If not for the cut, Vitali would have KOed Lewis IMO...

You have to consider that Vitali was owning Lewis the whole fight. Lewis used all kinds of dirty tactics just to survive.

Canada no offense but, just because posters here don't agree that Wlad's on his way to greatness, your view, doesn't make them "haters."

No, I think anyone who believes Wlad would be a fringe contender in any other era or says he is a bum is a hater. Anybody who denies he is a bona fide top heavyweight isn't being fair.

The first poll option didn't state "Wlad is on his way to greatness" it merely asked is there a chance that he may achieve ATG status by the end of his career.

Well, that's why I didn't vote because the options are from one extreme to the next. I'm a big Wlad fan and want him to achieve 'greatness' in his career but I'm not totally convinced that we'll see that. He's on a very dominate streak but can he keep it alive for another 2-4 years? I would like to think so, but I'm not betting on it now...

And what exactly did Lewis do to Vitali? They had one hell of a fight, which Vitali was winning on points at the time of stoppage. Don't see your point.

BostonGuy, don't you is there even a small chance Wlad will achieve greatness? He has 44 KO's now and needs one more win for 50...

In 30 years the old timers may be saying "we don't have any really good heavyweights like Wladimir Klitschko anymore..."

I do, and think that if he can stay healthy and busy then he can put together an impressive title defense and KO streak but let me first see him get past Chagaev/Ibragimov and possibly a rematch with Peter...

He certainly is no bum, in any era, he's no all time great, but calling him a fringe contender would be doing him an injustice.
i agree with this post, i think wlad is good and would be a top contender in any era and maybe win the title for a short period of time, but a great he is not.
