Excellent post Lethal. And Renren40 made a good point too, the ATHLETES do NOT generally disrespect the other sport.

Yes, Dana White can be abrasive, but I think he just likes to bring up boxing because he wants fans of COMBATIVE SPORTS to know there is another sport besides just boxing they might like.

The crowd booed somewhat during the Klitchko fight. Crowd booed alot during the Holyfield fight. Crowds boo, especially when they're drunk in Las Vegas. The crowd started to boo in Oscar vs. Floyd but Oscar saved the fight by throwing flurries.

That's the thing. The PPV was NOT boring. The thing is, you like every other boxing fan in this site tend to watch UFC with a BIAS so that u can criticise anything they do. We don't watch boxing with intent to hate on it. If it's boring we criticise it. Jabbing and running is what Floyd made people pay $55, and possibly $65 if u count snacks, add that and terrible undercards and you got some pissed off people. Not everyone was upset at the(last night's) card. There were alot of cheers, you were just so eager to hear boos so u can be "backed up" in your pathetic attempt at hating on UFC or MMA in general. Boxing has a lot of jabbers and runners, but yet you guys act like we should appreciate the sweet science when you guys fail to even understand the sport of MMA. Very hypocritical and if I recall correctly it was BOXING that started talking **** about MMA. Stop watching MMA and go watch your boxing, honestly this hate on MMA is ****ing ridiculous. Just shut the **** up and stop bitching.

And I wish idiots like you would appreciate MMA more or at least attempt to understand the scenarios.

Sean Sherk dominated a brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blackbelt, do you think Floyd would do the same? He's not strong enough to have kept Franca controlled, HELL NO def. not strong enough.

That's a big problem for boxing too. Money hungry people who can't be satisfied with their 20 million dollars.

      1st fight: old
      2nd: don't jinx it
3rd: def. gonna be boring, come on now be for real
4th hopefully Jermain doesnt **** it up for the fans like floyd did in his last fight
      5th good fight
      6th dont jinx it
      7th ????
      8th dont jinx it

lol @ u listing mostly future fights

No it hasn't. He also means on paper btw.

That's the thing...we're not trying to get boxing fans to ditch their sport and watch MMA. Watch both , I mean **** YOU guys are the first to criticise. I don't remember any boxing hate threads, leave MMA the **** alone if you dislike it. The more you hate on grappling and the ground game without even training it or at least understanding it...the more hate can go towards jab and runners.

Wow that was a ******ed post. When UFC first started out they were basically trying to see which style would win in a fight...boxing, wrestling or martial artist...the BJJ dude schooled everyone. don't say some ****** **** like "they were garbage" becuz fame doesnt equal skill.

And I can make a gif full of jab and runners...what's your point?

Yeah but boxing fans looovveee to hate on MMA so any and everything is garbage.

      Exactly.

They don't. They're a bunch of fat ****ing idiots.

There is nothing to dispute, just look at your sig. One vid has a guy thrown head-first to the canvas almost breaking his neck and paralyzing him for life. Another is a guy being punched while clearly unconscious. You talk about how tactical it is but in reality you watch it in hope that stuff like that will happen.

You ever seen the Mercer-Morrison fight? Or when Emile Griffith KILLED his opponent? Or Codrington-Green? Or Chavez-Johnson? Hitting a guy who is clearly out is NOT just in mma.

The guy is a freak with lots of muscle, but if Floyd uses his EXCEPTIONAL foot speed and avoids getting taken down, Sherk will get hit at will. Floyd is quicker than any UFC fighter i've seen.

The crowd booed somewhat during the Klitchko fight. Crowd booed alot during the Holyfield fight. Crowds boo, especially when they're drunk in Las Vegas. The crowd started to boo in Oscar vs. Floyd but Oscar saved the fight by throwing flurries.
The difference is, UFC/MMA is known for it's different styles and fighting rules. Even it's own fans hardly appreciate the fight when it's grounded, thus the boos. As soon as they're on their feet and striking each other you get the cheers. In which case you might as well make it a boxing match, and you may just get that transformation when some poor **** gets seriously hurt and their are campaigns to introduce cleaner rules and bigger gloves.

People bought Oscar/Floyd and they knew full well what to expect, the event STILL made an exceptional amount of money and broke many records, like that **** Dana White himself said, it would have been even bigger with a decent undercard. I'm not hating on MMA/UFC, but i do believe there is more skill involved in boxing and that's why it is the combat sport that will remain close to my heart. What i do hate about the UFC in particular is White using boxing to get exposure for UFC, and the silly UFC title belts (look like something out of the WWE) and the idiot presenters. It's all unprofessional.

Sean Sherk dominated a brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blackbelt, do you think Floyd would do the same? He's not strong enough to have kept Franca controlled, HELL NO def. not strong enough.
Floyd wouldn't do the same, he's not trained in that sort of fighting, obviously, also he's not a fighter who comes in at 155lbs +. Sherk's dominance was hugely to do with his physical presence, he was so much bigger and stronger than Franca and threw him around at will.

That's a big problem for boxing too. Money hungry people who can't be satisfied with their 20 million dollars.
Agreed, there are those out their solely in it for the money and not legacy. However, don't pretend that all UFC/MMA fighters fight for pride and legacy alone, they are in it for the money too and all these MMA fighters moving to UFC are doing it because they know that's where money is to be made.

That's the thing...we're not trying to get boxing fans to ditch their sport and watch MMA.
You and your fellow bloodthirsty fans aren't no... but Dana White is the one being a **** and the main reason i despise the UFC brand in particular. Trying to make out UFC is somehow better than boxing... he's a businessman and all businessmen are ****s.

This really is not as it looks. UFC is BIG on encourging any and every celebrity they can show up for the live event. Look at the fans when they shoot the crowd, a running joke is that 'ugly' people arent allowed in! The live UFC events are, IMO, where people go only because 'its the place to be'. Thats one reason why the PRIDE fans were better, they had like 30,000 people at the events, so you know alot of 'true fans' got in. The UFC only has a few thousand and can actually be selective as to who gets the few tickets.

The other parts were good points, but bottom line is you look at mma from a pure boxing fan's perspective.

lololol, Boxing has had loads of stacked cards, it's amazing how you claim it doesn't. UFC is mostly just a tough man competition, you take these ****ers to boxing, kickboxing, mui thai, etc. they would get they're ass whooped. Also "most" mma fans want to talk **** and say, "UFC gives you your moneys worth cause it has loads of fights," ****, it has to because mostly all the fights end too early, and an MMA fight is shorter to begin with then boxing. I won't lie, I've enjoyed some MMA fights like, Penn/Hughes 2, Pierre/hughes 2,Tito/Liddel 2, Grove/Herman, and some undercard fights, tho the best mma card I ever seen was Pride 33. All I have to say is that to me, MMA just doesn't compare to what the best of boxing has to offer. No MMA can even compare to boxings best fights, let alone its "good fights."
