Seriously... Due to a nationalistic bias, I'd have to go with my fellow countryman, Roberto Duran. Given my avatar and signature, the aforementioned is almost redondant...
Before Duran's arrival upon the boxing scene, Muhammad Ali was my very favorite and remains a close second to this day.
Rounding out my top 10 are:
3-Mike Tyson 4-Joe Louis 5-Sugar Ray Robinson 6-Larry Holmes* 7-Aaron Pryor 8-Julio Cesar Chavez 9-Michael Spinks 10-Alexis Arguello
*Outstanding but highly underrated because he succeeded and fought in the giant shadow cast by the legend of Muhammad Ali.
1. Tapia was tied to a chair and forced to watch two guys **** and kill his mom.
2. He was riding ******* with his uncle when someone shot and killed him.
3. His school bus crashed and careened into a ditch killing everyone on the bus except for Johnny himself.
As an older man,
4. He had an accident and was put into a coma.....leaving the ER room he slipped and hit his head putting himself back into another coma only to wake up, pull the life support off himself and escape to train for a fight against Contreras.
5. he's struggled with drug addiction and has overdosed before, putting his live in danger because he can't stop his addiction
6. His brother in Law and Nephew were killed on the way to see him in the hospital in an accident on the interstate.
7. He found out the identity of one of the men who ****d and killed his mother right before fighting Paulie Ayala for the first time........and pictured Ayala was that guy, and lost in a flat out robbery.
I have reasons and could go on all day long, but the fact remains to me he's like a little superman.
i dont have a favorite fighter, but there are a lot that i really admired....
cotto, duran, leonard, hearns, hagler, pep, ali, barrera, pac, arce, dempsey, mormeck, bell, corrales, juan diaz, tyson, etc... xDDD....
