  • Does It Mean Anything to win a Gold Medal in Boxing at the Olympics?

There's another thread, created by McNulty, where he states that it "doesn't mean Jack ****" to win a Gold Medal in boxing at the Olympics nowadays.

McNulty mentions three boxers whom he says have won Olympic Gold - Povetkin, Lacy and Arreola - and says they "suck ass".

However, only one of those three he mentioned - Povetkin - has actually won Olympic Gold!

    What do you all think?

I think it is very meaningful. All time greats like Muhammed Ali, George Foreman, Joe Frazier, and Lennox Lewis won Olympic Gold. Our current top heavyweight, Wladimir Klitschko, won the Gold in 1996.

A top heavyweight prospect is Odlandier Solis Fonte, who won Olympic Gold in the heavyweight division in 2006.

I NEVER said that. I SAID "Do Gold Medals Mean Jack **** Anymore?" very different. Twas a question not a statement.

Olympics medals mean something but that doesnt not mean he is going to be successful in pro.

because many amateur change there style as well as there people lose there discipline training and coach when they come to pro

I agree. I have a lot of respect for those who are able to accomplish this feat.
