for me it was the wide world of sports shows that hooked me. I watched casually before that, But it was the Marlon starlings,Mark brelands, Haugen, Mcguiggan, Qawi and many others that really got me started!

Guess it was late 70s early 80s!

My grandfather was a golden gloves champion and my father raised me around the equipment and TV fights.. I reisisted a little, to distance myself from "my dad's thing" and participated in martial arts as a permissable alternative.

I always fooled around with Boxing, and followed the sport on a more casual level - but about 10 years ago I got seriously involved on my own terms.

            Who can resist Boxing?

It's the most beautiful game there is.

            And it's a thinking man's game.. I was always a thinker.

my dad he was a fan of ALI and he watched a lot of the heavyweight fights, my interest in boxing all started from their ...

as much as the fight itself, but as a kid the back stories made it more interesting like foreman's punch allegedly can put a cow down ...

he he, i never really found out if it was an urban legend ... lol

My uncle was a top welterweight boxer in Britain in the 1930's. Although I watched boxing a little as I was growing up in the late 60's and 70's (Ali, Foreman, Holmes) I became more interested after being very impressed watching Wladimir Klitschko win Gold in the 1996 Olympics. I still wasn't a hard core heavyweight fan until around 2000 when Wlad first won the WBO title. Then in 2005 I discovered a new favorite, Ricky Hatton, and so I started following weight classes other than heavyweight.
