  • Your thoughts on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

I know there's not many believers in this kid but I just wanted to get everyones thoughts on where he might end up when it's all said and done. Will he become one of the best fighters at 147? He's a pretty big kid and I don't think he'll be able to stay at 147 for long, so do you think he'll win championships in 1,2, maybe even 3 different weight classes?

I do. I like his size and strength very much and think he has what it takes to become a champion. His speed isn't bad and his chin hasn't been tested but I like what I've seen.

he forgets to jab a lot

From what i've seen of him he looks good, his size is his best asset as he's huge for 147, he also has good power and speed. The only weakness is his best asset and thats his size, what i mean by this is because he's big it means he'll have to move up to 154 but theres no money there so he'll have to go to 160 where he'll be tall but physically small against fighters like taylor and pavlik, i also think he wont be able to hurt the middle weights with his power and as his defence lacks he'll be hurt by there shots.
      He looks promising though.

I like JCC Jr a lot. I think he's going to be a great champion at 154 and 160 but he'll stay at 147 for a while, maybe win a paper championship and defend it once or twice before growing out of the weightclass.

He's actually faster than most people give him credit for and his hook is beautiful. His style reminds me of Tito Trinidad (just the way he hooks and throws the straight right) and he does have some pop.

It's too bad he didn't have a long amateur career to learn from. He's basically learning in the ring, as a pro. Given that fact, you have to believe that this kid has tons of potential. If he could just get with a great trainer like Nacho he'd be set.

an average boxer with nice left hook. overprotected and overhyped. looks good against cab drivers. let him fight a b level boxer so that we can see if he is the next star or just a joke.

this kid, with a bit more work could be all that arum wants him to be. he has the left hook / straight and he puts his punches together nice. i'd like to see him use his height and reach advantage in a display of boxing against a bonafide guy.

hes going to have a very good career, as good as his dad? probably not, but i like what i see from the kid.

he's unusually accurate however. anyway, i try to not miss one of this guys fights - very trinidadesque.

could you imagine if he hooked up with beristain? pfffft! QUE! fuggedaboudit!

Unfortunately it's on the Morales vs. Diaz PPV card. I like Chavez Jnr, I'm just sick of him fighting bums. He needs to step it up.
