How good is Vernon Forrest?

First off Mayorga came into his own in those two fights and was a very special/strong/fierce fighter for a short period at welterweight. Forrest unfortunately chose the wrong strategy against him and paid the price, then you got a severe shoulder injury that took a lot of steam out of him. That being said if he can return to health he will beat the snot out of Baldy and the fight with Bazooka was very very close. Forrest landed the cleaner shots in most of the rounds and Bazooka the flashier ones. Forrest needs to impress in this one if he is making a bid for a title shot at 154 cause he aint getting any younger.

Oh god. This is a bad won for Baldomir. Vernon is going to work him pretty good. Late knockout, in my opinion. Vernon is for sure the more polished guy, he is going to rain punches on Baldomor all night because of all the size and leverage he uses with his style.

I'm a big carlos baldomir fan. Since he will fight vernon forrest i would like to know how good forrest is, i only saw him 3 times (against mosley, mayorga and quartey) is he realy that good, because a win over mosley at welter is impressive, but in the other 2 fights he didn't impress me.
So i would like too know whats your opinion about him ?

Forrest is a great fighter.

But he's slowed down a few notches in every department..

What he still has is his killer instinct, and the guy is a winner.

forrest in his prime was kind of hearns clone. he was a good fighter, he had shane mosley's number. lately though, forrest hasn't looked that impressive, every fighter ages different, i know vernon is past his best

Vernon is a excellent boxer with power in the right hand, And his defense in underated. There is no way that Baldi beats him. I thought Vernon got robbed in his second fight with Mayorga.

How good is he? In today's times not that good in my opinion. What i heard of him was that he was a great amateur but his pro game is highlighted by the Mosley fights. His biggest win prior to Mosley was Raul Frank(WHO?) for a belt and since then has fallen off. He along with Mosley and Mayorga are fighters that have been overated as a result of beating a single fighter.Forrest beating Mosley,Mayorga beating Forrest and Mosley beating Oscar De La HOya are examples of how beating one fighter can make you a career.
