Brewster: "Klitschko Will Have To Kill Me"

By Ryan ******** - Hell. That's the only word that summarizes what Lamon Brewster experienced in the fourth defense of his WBO title belt. Sergei Lyakhovich entered the contest as a prohibitive underdog, coming to bring the fight of his life. [details]

Ermmm, isn't that exactly what fans are worried about? Brewster dying bravely on the field of battle...

EDIT: Very good article as well - good structure, reads fluidly, and puts an interesting slant on Brewster's situation.

Good **** Ryan. Props to Lamon for underplaying the American vs. Eurpoean angle. But I don't buy this not trying to win rounds strategy. I don't believe he really wants to keep getting behind on the cards like he does.

Klitschko will have to kill him, I believe that much.

Much respect to Brewster for winning and defending his title once he received it. He was fighitng regularly, fan friendly, and humble. I just hope his career does not end up like David "The American Dream" Reid's.

I have never heard of a situation where a fighter has said before the fight that his opponent will need to kill him, and where that fighter has then gone on to win. Brewster is already setting the scene for his loss.

I don't think Klitchko will have to kill Brewster to win, but it may look like he's going to.

I like Brewster too. Lotta guts, real heavy hands, willing to stand toe-to-toe with anyone in the world..what's not to like? But he just doesn't have the tools to give him anything more than a puncher's chance in this fight. I just hope he doesn't let a brutal KO send him into retirement. I like to watch him fight. He's one of the more exciting heavyweights we have today, and I can't think of a single one of his fights that I didn't enjoy watching. His fight against Liakovich was one of the best heavyweight fights I've seen in many years. Speaking of Liakovich....another heavy with more guts than anyone has a right too. I'm still pissed off we didn't see an immediate rematch between him and Brewster. Those two make for a fantastic brawl, one I'd actually pay to see.

Well,Lamont talks a good game...to bad he can't back it up.

He will be destroyed in this fight...and I hope not killed.
