According to the reliable source that is boxing records:
Judge: Bernie Friedkin 6-4 | Judge: Al Reid 6-4 | Judge: Tony Moret 8-2 ~
      Tillis down in 4th.

First: Mike was still learning and not as good as he would become. Mike was a quick study and progressed in such a short time that every fight was a learning experience and propelled his confidence.

Mike early on was still not sure of himself and even switched to southpaw occasionally.

According to both Rooney and Tyson, Mike was still unsure of himself up to this point because he had never went past a certain round, never went the distance. When Mike couldn't knock Tillis out early, and because Tillis continued to hold, Mike knew it would be a longer fight so he took some of the pressure off the gas pedal in order to make sure he could go the distance.
After the 11th, he knew he had enough and this would boost his confidence to the next level.

Remember how young Tyson was. In fact, even at 20 yeas old that by most standards is 5 or so yeas away from an athletic/physical/mental prime, unless we count certain sports like Tennis and Gymnastics.

Was "Iron" Mike Tyson beatable at his peak, sure, he is human after all.

He became a head hunter after the spinks fight, stopped going to the body and using his great head movement. He had the best head movement of any heavy weight in history, he should have never signed with don king and fired kevin rooney.

Yep! This is the guy that we have defended when we argue with these characters claiming Lewis "destroys" Tyson at any point, ect. ect.

            BTW:

What the hell did they do to Adagio For Strings?..

            Blasphemy!

Quick Tillis was, at the time, the only one to ever take tyson passed the
3rd round, and "go the distance" with Tyson. You obviously do not understand what "UNSTOPABLE" means. Did Quick Tillis "STOP" Tyson?????

Almost doesn't count......the bout ended with Tyson taking a Majority Decison, no where near your so called draw.

two judges score it 6-4 thats close to a draw, point is (if you didnt get it) that if tyson fights so close with a journeyman he wasnt unstopable in the 80s as some say.

Not unstoppable, but please read my points. The key is watching how Tyson evolved with every fight. It is amazing seeing how fast he matures as a fighter, especially given how young he was. Even the sharpness of his punches got better in a short time period.

This was still Mike Tyson, not "Iron" Mike Tyson.

Just look at Joe Louis vs. Schmeling or Ali vs. Cooper...

I'm not fully convinced that his era he fought in was any good. Like, I still think that if he was in the ring with someone like lewis/holyfield in the 1980's in his so called "prime", I still think he would lose.
