How Much Do Ref's Make?

I'm assuming the reason as to why that is, is because the old one's are less likely to be bought, experience obviously, and I also think that the refs who get to do the huge PPV events has more to do w/ who they know in the business, than just being the best at it. Jay Nady and Laurence Cole sure as hell suck b*lls. How the hell are they still around?? Friends in high places(haha)............. named Bob and Don.Comment

Referees generally are paid per card that they work, not per bout. However, the payment amount is determined in large part by how big the gate is (amount of money taken in by paying customers), whether or not the bout is televised, and if there is a championship of some kind involved.
For a regular ,local, untelevised boxing show, an official might make $200-$400 or so, add a couple hundred for television, and for a major fight like a title fight, the ref could make several thousand dollars. However, to work a title fight, a referee must be a member of the sanctioning organization (such as the WBC, WBA, IBF, etc.).Last edited by guzi815; 07-01-2007, 07:06 AM.Comment

Cole is still around because of his father. He is a true disgrace as a referee.Comment
