    Hatton's win...greatest in British history?

I watched the Hatton fight on Saturday...and Jim Lampley said that Hatton's victory over Kosta was voted the greatest win in British boxing history.

My first thought was...that can't be.The mauling of a used up,injured, champion who had one foot in retirement is the greatest 'win' in British Boxing?

    Then...I thought,yeah...I guess it was.Some history....

Where is the 'Thrilla in Manilla'?....or Hagler/Hearns...or Leonard/Duran...or any number of dozens of moments we have had in the USA.

Hatton beating an old man is their greatest moment?...

Yet someone will start a thread asking why British fighters must come to the USA to prove they are really world champions.

    Simps....

Maybe you should consider killing yourself.

Nah. The Tszyu was old card gets played too many times for that. I'd say Lennox beating Evander twice (robbed once) is the best in British history if for no other reason than because Holyfield wasn't that old at the time and went on to win another heavyweight title. Besides, Lewis beats Holyfield at any point in their careers to me. I don't know if Hatton would beat a younger Tszyu. Probably.

Maybe he meant as taking PLACE in Britain. Then it's definitely Hatton over Tszyu.

I don't want to make a habit of this, but I agree with you (somewhat).

Randy Turpin beating Ray Robinson was pretty big too.

That's true. I mean people still talk about that fight all of the time, so it's up there.

Ever heard of Lennox Lewis destroying the worlds best HW's? I know some Brits don't acknowledge Lewis as British but his achievements outweigh any British fighter, IMO.
