How can you make someone look bad when you only land 85 punches and don't even hurt your opponent. Spinks never really engage Taylor that much cause he was afraid of his power. Also Taylor was getting a better reaction out of the crowd because the punches he landed had more snap and excitement to them. He even landed more than Spinks so how did he make Taylor look bad. The Hopkins and Wright thing is ridicolous too. Regardless of how he did it he still beat Hopkins twice. People say Taylor didn't the first one and it was a fluke. If that was the case how come he was able to beat him again. Think about Rahman and lewis. And the Winky Wright draw was Winky's own fault anyway. If hadn't coasted the last couple of rounds and actually fought Taylor, Wright would have won. Thats true because even Taylor himself had said that. Point blank Taylor drew against Winky and beat Hopkins twice. Let me remind you that they are the best tactical boxers today and are part of the pound for pound elite. So I feel Taylor deserves to be up there. Don't take him off cause he had a couple of bad fights. It happens. He still won them and it was against former champions. If people are grading on unimpressive wins in the last couple fights than Floyd should be taken off. His wins against Baldomir and De La Hoya were far from impressive and I believe that alot of people can agree with me on that.

    the crowd was chanting "cory,cory!"

Holds a title for over a decade
Undefeated in all of his professional carrier

Where Wright made the top 3 spot by winning two close fights against a MUCH smaller Mosley and beating Trinidad who couldn't answer Wright's style.

But if Wright loses to Hopkins and Calzaghe beats Kessler I would put both these guys in the top 3.

After seeing how shot Morales is, for some reason, I'm no longer impressed with Pacman's wins over Erik

Hey, but that's just my opinion.

Jermain Taylor does not deserve to be on the p4p list.

After he got his gifts against Hopkins and wright, he decided to fight small guys, and has struggled. I think he really needs to fight and beat Pavlik and Abraham, if he is to warant a spot on the p4p list.

I have no problem with him being outside the top 10 after his last couple of performances. He surely shouldn't be faulted for taking tough fights against Hopkins and Wright but he was far from impressive in any of those bouts and as such lacks a career defining victory...couple that with a couple uninspiring performances and I understand the drop. He definitely could be back in the top 10 with an impressive performance against Pavlik. And who really cares who is the best of a mythical category that really does nothing other than for ego.

who really cares?... IMO with all the alphabets and different weight divisions these days.. the ring's pound for pound is one of the most prestigious honours out there.

Maybe the Ring magazine TITLE but I don't think anybody cares about p4p because its totally subjective. We're talking about skill per pound what does that even mean?

it means who is the best boxer with the size element taken out. as the title best pound for pound suggests.

haha just kidding i see your point. it is highly subjective. although the ring is a fairly decent authority on the subject.

You need to appreciate that both Winky and Spinks were smaller men. Taylor struggling so badly against them goes against the whole principal of p4p.

See this is whats wrong with boxing today, Jermaine Taylor is defintley a P4P top 10 fighter no doubt about it, his resume speaks volumes and when compared to both Winky and B_hop his activity and name of oppoent is over-whelming in recent years, to fight Hopkins twice, then Winky, Ouma and Spinks one after the other come on thats nice, Hopkins (1 of my fav) has only fought one fight since his two losses and Ring has him 6th. Winky has only fought one as well since his fight with Taylor, yet both are top 10 P4P fighters over Taylor lol! For Ring of all things people and organizations not to recongize Jermaine Taylors accomplishments is horrid, he beat the P4P champ not once but twice, then went on to face another top 10 guy 6mths later and arguable beat him but instead fought to a draw, he then came off that fight only 6 mths later to fight another former champ Ouma, and again only 5 mnths later he fights another champ in Spinks now if that isnt worthy of being a top 10 guy what is!

You see i think its bull**** and the reason Taylor has been extinguished from the P4P list is because of bias and who he's beat, look at a guy like Hatton, he fights Collazo arguably losses, doesnt give the show people want against Urango and up until, Saturday many people doubted him yet his Top-10... Jermaine defintly deserves to be top 10
