I think the fight will be very close though, with Chagaev being a little more active and precise. Hence, the MD. Never mind the score though, I'm just excited about this fight taking place altogether. As for Wlad fighting the winner in 2008, all we've heard from Wlad is that he wants to unify and not a single hint about even a discussion with any of other title holders. First, it was Don King, which was understandable. Now that King is not in the picture, time to walk the walk and Wlad is not doing it. We'll see, time will tell.
Let's not be too hard on Wlad, I'm confident he'll fight the winner. He can't announce that now, with the Brewster fight looming. But if he beats Lamon, which is not for certain, I bet immediately after the fight he'll say he'll will fight the winner for a three title unification.

Chagaev and Ibragimov are far from beings bums, they're top heavyweights - they're very fast, they have KO power and are entertaining to watch. They are both better fighters than any American heavyweight right now.

They get a lot of undeserved criticism, but did you enjoy the Briggs/Ibragimov and Valuev/Chagaev fights? Honestly?

Sultan Ibragimov is one of my favorites to watch! I enjoyed the Briggs fight, because I was focused on the skill, speed and smart tactics of Sultan Ibragimov rather than how slow and ridiculous Briggs looked.

The same for the Valuev fight, to a lesser extent: I enjoyed the skill and strategy of Chagaev, despite Valuev being slow.

Watch some of their other fights on YouTube, such as Chagaev vs. Calloway, or Ibragimov vs. Mora.

By getting rid of Briggs and Valuev, they improved the heavyweight division in a big way. Chagaev vs. Ibragimov against each other, considering their speed, power and skill, should be a heckuva fight!

The problem is, he's been saying that for years and never came through with his promises. I'm not being too hard on him, just stating the facts. I think you're right though, now that the HW division is free of Don King, we'll have unified champ by the beginning of 2008.

Chagaev by easy decision, I think Valuev beats Ibragimov and Chagaev beat him decisively.

Chagaev didn't beat Valuev decisively; he did 'just enough' to win the close decision. This is a very evenly matched fight and will hopefully be just as competitive. It could well be a draw...

I'm with Parody, I think Chagaev is the much better boxer. I've not seen him against another southpaw, though, so I can't play this one out in my mind so easily.

This is kinda of cool that both titlists are southpaws and hopefully makes for an entertaining boxing match. It's really anyones boxing match and will be interesting to see who the odd makers make the favorite.
