The HW division will start to regain some credibility with those who have lost interest, if unification bouts start to happen. Do we really want fighters like Rahman and Holyfield getting undeserved title shots? No, let the champions fight amongst themselves so we can see who is the creme da la creme of the boxing big boys.

i'm not complaining, cause this is a great fight to be made... but I dont really consider it unification... i remember a few years ago when the WBO title wasnt even recognized.... I'd rather boxing stop recognizing it as a legit title cause there are already too many belts....

I hear ya, but many have started to recognize the WBO as a credible sanctioning body; just look at the reigning WBO super middleweight champ..

However, I think that hw boxing fans have waited so long for unification; they'll take anything they can get(me included). Besides, I think that this unification bout will lead to others because of the credibility and the marketability the WBA/WBO champ can bring to the table. In any event, I think that this is a great first step and 'gets the ball moving' to an undisputed and unified hw champ.

And I bet neither of them would want to fight Wlad.

Something tells me this is just a publicity propaganda...

In today's boxing money talks... Why would they want to unify the belts with two unknown fighters?

Wouldn't they (network, promoters) want to bring them up in at least one or two title defenses and then have a unification bout.

But maybe in Moscow the fight will make sense.

Anyhow.. we, the fans, are not after the $$$ and want to get some movement in the HW division.. so good news indeed!
