    Poor Jose Luis Castillo

I feel really bad for the guy, for a variety of reasons. First off the passing of his brother recently must've been extremely hard on him, secondly the passing of Diego Corrales had to be yet another violent blow to his psyche, then HBO announces on air that Corrales family is still suing Castillo for failure to make weight in the second and (would be) third fight with Corrales, then he goes out on the punch that made him famous.

Immediately afterward HBO's commentary crew pick his carcass saying he was a shot fighter and was only fighting because he's broke, and even Emmanuel Steward went so far to say that while a lot of people think he's a great fighter, he never really did anything that would justify such high regard. Not to mention how Castillo haters flooded the message boards talking **** about how he "quit".

I feel overwhelmingly saddened for Castillo and how he must feel as I type this. Am I the only one?

Yeah. He's ****ed but he has no one to blame but himself really.
I do feel bad for him, though.

Too late in his career for that.
You tell me who, at 140, can he beat to bring him back to superstar status?

One option is to chase another belt against one of the other titlist, but I think his best chance would be against Malignaggi, and I don't he's on Paulie's radar as potential opponents.

          Back to undercards for JLC.

Who can he beat at 140? Anyone who doesn't smother and hit like a ton of bricks to the body. He has a chance.

I feel sorry for him too. One of the toughest fighters around and fans, commentators etc turn backs on fighters at the drop of a dime.

I agree wholeheartedly. A fighter can be ontop of the world one moment, adored by millions and with one bad move or simple mistake people will turn their backs on him quicker than they flocked to him.

Forget superstar status, he can make some good money fighting Ricardo Torres, Holt, Arnautis, or Malignaggi.

Great idea. Both fighters are in the twilight of their respective careers it seems, both have a style suited for the other, guaranteed to be an exciting affair. Put it on the boardwalk and you've got a surefire sellout.
