Trinidad is only coming back for money... He is also going to hurt the sport and his legacy. By getting his ass beat up

Oh, and tell me you wouldn't tune in to see Taylor-Trinidad if JT beats Pavlik. That would be a huge fight, because Taylor would regain credibility with a big win over Pavlik (something I think he will do in impressive--not dominant, but impressive--fashion), and of course Tito is Tito.

If Taylor were to dominate Pavlik the appeal wouldn't be as big because most fans would say "If Pavlik couldn't beat him, no way Tito could at this point in his career," but if it's a back-and-forth war, people may give Tito a nice chance (and of course Taylor's stock right now is so low that alot of boxing people would at least give Tito a decent shot). Taylor isn't the technician/boxing master that Hopkins and Winky are, but if he finds his jab it could be a long night for Tito.

Oh well, I love to speculate because I think it would be a huge event at MSG and HBO, DK and DiBella would be crazy NOT to pursue it if Taylor does indeed defeat Pavlik.

And if he were to beat Taylor, and much crazier things have happened (see Foreman, George and Moorer, Michael), his legacy would be cemented as he finally will have won the middleweight title and he could retire on top.

It's a risk to further damaging his legacy, sure, but no one can take away his run in the 90s. Most people's last memory of him is getting schooled by Winky, wouldn't it be better, even if he lost, for people's last memory of him battling Taylor in a more competitive fight after a 2-year layoff and a huge MSG homecoming of sorts?

I don't think he'd get his ass beat. I am sure he will probably lose a few though. I do not think he is trying to outshine Cotto. There is money to be made and simply, Tito wants to make some more money while he still can. It's really a no brainer, IMO.

Cotto will not be cast back into the shadows. He's here.

Cotto won't be cast out but if you live here in PR you know Tito is just feeling jealous of all the attention Cotto is getting. Just let Cotto run the show, your time has past.

Unless he's lost most of his money in ****fighting bets then I don't see why he needs the money.

Money is one thing Tito doesn't need. If he's returning it's definitely because of the attention that Cotto's getting. He's always said that he loved the support that he received from his people. Seeing that crowd in MSG on June 9th is eating him up inside.

I think he's jealous of Cotto to be honest, but Tito luvs the crowds chanting for him - that alone could be his reasoning for a return to the ring and nothing to do with Cotto. Tito is gonna end up really hurting his leggaciy but i bet u even now he beats the piss out of alot of FIGHTERS! Fighters being the key word. He woulda spanked my boy Miguel at welter but a fight between them just aint never gonna happen Tito is WAY too big now. Cotto and Trinidad are two of my all time favs, yeah Cotto already up there!

I dont think it will cast a shadow over Cotto at all, Tito even at this stage in his carreer can be one of the top fighters out there if he gets the right trainer. But wow at 147 he would of put Cotto to sleep..lol..

I buy that theory as well. After seeing DLH Mayweather and Cotto's win in MSG, it triggered Tito into come back mode. It won't hurt Cotto at all. Cotto is his own man and is well and truly on his path to writing his very own legacy. I would love a PPV with both on the same card.

I doubt Tito is short of a buck. It's like saying DLH only fought Floyd for the money. Sure the money is nice, but when you already have millions, putting yourself through that kind of training and torture isn't done for the money it's for the glory.
