Would Titos return cast a shadow over Cotto

Through out Cottos entire career, he still hasnt escaped the side by side comparison to Tito and his a complishments, would his return throw cotto back in the shadow, or will he want to do what he did to Quintana?

No, Cotto will have plenty of the limelight. In fact, I think it would help boxing immensely. Imagine a DKP-Top Rank co-promotion where Cotto fights his mandatory and Tito fights in the main event on a huge PPV card at MSG. Tell me that wouldn't be unbelievable.

I think this is Tito's main reason for wanting to come back. Seeing Cotto get all that attention has to hurt him inside. I dont see how that could hurt Cotto, especially since hes the one with all the momentum.

There's plenty of media to go around. It's not like these guys are going to fight on the same date on separate networks and fight for daily press coverage. Boxing needs all the stars it can get, I don't care where they're from.

Like I said, going to Oscar's camp, watching the Oscar-Floyd fight and now helping Winky in prep for Hopkins, he is a natural competitor and he undoubtedly has those juices flowing and he wants another big fight or two before it's too late. Hopkins and Winky themselves are proving that 35 is not old in boxing.

Nah, I dont think so. I think Cotto has finally emerged from Tito's shadow with the Zab fight. Us boricuas know that IF Tito comes back, it's only going to be for a couple of fights, while Cotto is here for a few more years.

I see your point, but what's wrong with a guy choosing to continue his profession after taking another couple years off? If he loves to do it, can do it and is given the opportunity to do it in style, why would he turn that down for someone else's benefit (e.g. to not steal Cotto's thunder). I don't think Cotto would mind if Tito came back.

Like Phantasm said, the Puerto Ricans would know it is another short-term one or two fight deal, and Cotto is still the present and the future of PR boxing.
