If Hatton Hadn't Turned Down Mayweather...

Yeah, but most people "in the know" knew Floyd and Zab were best friends before that fight and it was all an act.Comment

i don't blame hatton i blame anyone (except mosley).... it wouldn't have been such a mega event until now pbf beat oscar and now he is on top hopefully he will fight cotto, mosley, hatton, marg/williams but if not pbf doesn't love the money as much as he act. When him, 50, and the media aren't so close he will see boxing, where he should be. If he don't fight again he will remind me of Mcbride how u going to beat tyson and not cash in???? wtf is that all aboutComment

I don't see anything from Hatton that reminds me of Chico, he reminds me of Ruiz, not Chico!those three times, he would be my favorite fighter. I'm so convinced of it, especially after he finally looked good again for an entire fight last night. His all-action style is the closest thing we have to Corrales now. I thought the way he gave Corrales' wife flowers and hugged her after the fight was terrific. It almost made me teary-eyed. He has power in both hands, but he's a genuine guy and he seems humble as hell.
Until he talks about Mayweather.
Win, lose, or draw, I think he would be my favorite guy in the sport if he hadn't turned Floyd down three times. For that, while I may not like watching Mayweather the most, I respect him a hell of a lot more than Hatton.
And it's not even that Hatton turned Floyd down because that's fine. If you aren't ready, you aren't ready. But to turn a guy down and continuously talk about him and call him afraid and boring, etc is complete BS to me. Now he wants to call him out again when Floyd is a junior middleweight and he's still a junior welterweight. That's nonsense. Do you really think Floyd is going to go down to 140 to fight you? Why lose that weight and put yourself at risk? Does Hatton think this will help him? History has shown that it puts you at a disadvantage if you go back down in weight, especially late in your career. If Hatton wants to go at 147, that's perfectly fine, but I don't think he wants to.
Erase that debacle from Hatton's career and he is my favorite guy no doubt. As it stands, he's much farther down the list. Such is the way of boxing.Comment
re-read the example I gave to begin with.
