Cortez is the worse referee if you're a latino fighter....he always warns the latino whether mexican or puerto rican more than any other race...even emmanuel stewart said that a while back....Cortez is a scumbag and should be banned from boxing...imagine if he refereed the corrales castillo fight...the fight probably would have ended in the 4 th round due to some lame disqualification.....

To be objective about this -

1) I thought that Cortez controlled the clinches/infighting well - Castillo was holding as much as Hatton, and there were plenty of punches thrown on the inside, just look at the punch stats or better still rewatch the fight.

2) The points deduction for the low blow was harsh IMO, but there's no way it was important in the result. Castillo couldn't cope with Hatton, he looked very weak against a Hatton in supreme condition who was superior to him even on the inside where Castillo hoped to get some joy.

But I seriously didn't think Cortez was that bad. The long action-less clinches were cut out and it was an entertaining fight in my eyes.

I dont know about you guys but I dont like Cortez. tonight it just put the cherry on top. Hatton is doing all the holding NO warning for him. Castillo received 2 warnings and a point deduction, i didnt even see the dam low blow.

Cortez is on the **** list. We just wanna see everything fair...judges...ref's...not preferences on who's got a longer career for fights.

He panics to fast, i mean its a fight let them fight, he breaks them up at odd times, i would cry if he refred a big time fight like ANY Cotto fight

This is pretty true form my own observations of him as well.

He is a scumbag. I remember Bhop was about to pull out of a fight because Cortez was going to be the Ref or something along those lines.
