why do people still underrate margarito?

Floyd fought Mitchell to get ready for a slick southpaw in Judah (who was the undisputed champ at the time). He beats Mitchell only to see Judah lose. So he fights Judah, because he's still a big threat and (I believe) the contract was already signed. Plus, it was more than anyone else could offer (Margarito fight had not been offered). After that was the first time anyone heard about Arum wanting him to fight margarito. The $8 million was offered, Baldomir's people matched it and that is how things went down. Perhaps, you should wake up and get your facts straight.

this is exactly what i mean. you disrespect him and say hes nothing but all the top welterweights continue to avoid him. i respect williams and cotto for have the balls to fight margarito.

I don't disrespect him. I'm saying he's slow. That, my friend, is nothing but a fact.
He is tough, rugged and comes at you all day long, but any top level boxer should knock his head off. If he indeed were to beat Mosley or Floyd, I'll eat my words and start riding his **** too

A good fast boxer will "always" beat a good slow fighter IMO.

I did not know that and still don't. Just because you see a post from someone here doesn't make it fact. Not trying to disrespect Margarito (as you'll probably take it), but who the hell knew him in '05? Who really knows him now? Back then, if Floyd had fought him for the $7 Million instead of setting up a fight with the undisputed champ Judah people would've ripped him apart for it.

i see threads and polls saying margarito will lose to williams. why doesnt margarito still get the respect he deserves ? he destroyed cintron and beat a good fighter in clottey in his last fight. williams is just a prospect who hasnt beat anyone even close to top 10 material. margarito will beat williams and probably knock him out.

margarito is the same fighter that has been ducked and dodged by the best at 147 for the last few years. floyd mayweather would not fight this man for $8 million dollars because hes too good of a fighter. margarito deserves some respect for being possibly the best welterweight in the world.
