Guys on here are doing that with regularity. Are you addressing that as well?

No, it's NOT the end of story. Open your mind.

Roy Jones dominated James Toney and Bernard Hopkins. Late in his career, he got knocked unconscious by Glen Johnson.

I don't believe that any knowledgeable boxing fan would put Glen Johnson on par with a prime Toney or BHop. Johnson caught RJJ on the downside.

The point being, it's not just WHO you fight, but also WHEN you fight them. If Hatton did that to a prime Castillo, I would be VERY impressed. But he did that to an aging, shopworn JLC. Eh, not so much.

Are you also impressed that Macho stopped an old SRL?

Yep. That's actually worse because they're even further removed from the boxing world. I find it irritating when keyboard warriors trash talk the athletes in the sport they pretend to love. Anyone that hasn't laced up the gloves doesn't have any right to call anyone that has a bum, joke or any other derogatory term. That's a problem with "fans" of all sports. I can't stand listening to sports radio, especially call in shows.

It's difficult to become a successful professional athlete in any sport. For someone like Ellerbe to talk bad about someone who did, very successfully, when he couldn't even do it himself, is way out of line.

FINALLY...someone not afraid to speak the truth!! It is DIS-RE-SPECTFUL to call a fighter a bum, especially when you yourself (Leonard) could never even attempt to fight as a professional boxer. Guys like that seem to have NO IDEA AT ALL what it really does take to step in a ring, at that level especially. A guy like Ellerbee is AROUND the game but he is not IN the game, u know? It's too easy for jokers like that to talk trash and get away with it.

I regularly see both fighters and peripheral guys calling certain fighters "bums" , "tomato cans", etc.

That was an unfortunate statement for L to make. But it isn't uncommon in the sport. That is no excuse, but it has becaome part of the Internet culture.

How many guys on here are calling PBF a ducker, a runner, a punk, a "bitsh", etc? Do any of THEM dare stand in front of Oscar Delahoya? Have you seen the criticism of Zab Judah?

Truth be told, I have been VERY critical of Tommy Morrison, but for entirely different reasons.

THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS!!! I come on here and view these boards sometimes, and all I see are people calling pro fighters bums, jokes, etc. It makes me sick!

These people are total cowards who have never even stepped into the ring and don't know what its like to get hit in the face and gut, yet they feel its fine to criticize real warriors.

Most of the people on here are pathetic low-lifes with no jobs or friends, and they make themselves feel better about their pathetic lives by talking "tough' on the internet.

I have seen PBF train up close (in the same gym as I worked out 10 feet away) and he didnt need any help whatsoever to train like a super athlete...his work out was a BOXING workout and it was impressive. Ellerbee couldnt teach Floyd anything about boxing training

I hate when people call fighters bums too. People dont realize how hard it is just to succeed in amatuer boxing let alone the pros. I dont think people realize how much it hurts to get hit repeatedly with 10 ounce gloves either. People always say, "man if I was Floyd Mayweather I would stand and trade." Yeah ok easy for you to say when you're on your couch.

This was about two years ago when i first started using the net so i didn't trust anyone but after he left I knew it had to have been him.

It's to bad, i'd like to talk to him again .
I was there that night...this one idiot was really dogging Peter bad..and I told the guy in an IM that it really was Peter..and he was like "Really? I thought it was some guy just pretending" like that made it OK. Peter is actually a BIG boxing fan and knows the game really well...he really just wanted to talk boxing but these guys, most of whom never fought a day in their lives, dogged him and of course he eventually stopped coming back. The JERKS ruin it for themselves because very, very few pro boxers will go to those rooms or boards because of it and if they do they almost never reveal themselves

He called an undefeated championship-caliber fighter a "joke" and "overrated." That's not really an intelligent opinion, it's just **** talk. The guy should keep his mouth shut, because really, he's a nobody.
he called hatton a joke because he is a joke..leonard can see it, floyd can see it, anyone in boxing can see hatton has been protected and hasn't developed the skills necessary to compete with a fighter of floyd's caliber. compared to floyd hatton is a joke.
