u can make a solid arguement that Oscar won 5 rounds, round 2, 4,6,7,8. If you score fights with a heavy emphasis on aggression you can make a case for him winning round 12. I had this fight scored a draw initially but of course on hindsight I had it 7 rounds to 5 MAyweather. I will say this again, Oscar obviously got tired or maybe he was hurt as he says. But I think Oscar wanted to end his carreer with a fight that would be talked about for a long time, Floyd promised him a toe to toe fight and couldnt deliver. Oscar probably realizes he's no spring chicken and cant chase a guy like mayweather for most of the fight and have the energy to light up the sky with action packed exchanges. So why think Mayweather would fight any different? You look at the investment Oscar made in this fight, personally, on a business level, professionally and have to ask what would he stand to gain? As has been said before many of the people who bought this fight the first time wont buy again. Plain and simple they dont want to see Floyd pot shot his way to victory against a faded but still very good opponent. Floyd is blinded by greed but Oscar has a different perspective plus a different agenda. Floyd may be a great great fighter but his reluctance to step up to a challenge and take on the best/toughest fights for him that are out there really has to make you wonder? floyd says he dont need boxing maybe boxing really dont need floyd anymore?

      Oscar, don't blame Floyd....blame YOUSELF.!!!

      Lethal,

Did Oscar back out on a promise that he was "going to make this a rough, tough, dirty fight"? That he was going to "make the referee warn me a couple of times"? Remember that? At the press conference? When Floyd was mocking him with the "oooh, I'm scared" dance?

Or how about "when I touch you, you are going to hurt for weeks"? What happened to that, Oscar?

The reality is that Floyd MADE Oscar fight PBF's fight. PBF agreed to fight Oscar in a small ring, at a higher weight, and with small gloves. Oscar set himself up with every advantage.

Why didn't Oscar cut off the ring, hunt Lil' Floyd down, and punish him with hard shots?

Oscar BEFORE every fight: I'm in the best shape of my life. I have never felt this strong. Or this fast.

Oscar AFTER every fight: I had an injury that prevented me from training. My shoulder was killing me.

Yeah I'm kind of agreeing with this.

Because I've said it those two are really the only two I see beating him. Although I wouldn't go so far to say he's flat out scared of Shane............but I will say that's biting off a bit too much as far as risk/reward is concerned.

Shane is a superstar and a draw......but let's leave it there. Because it's been established Floyd was seeking out history by moving up in weight as a challenger.....well he'd be challenging for a leftover belt he vacated in the first place against an extremely dangerous opponent who's days as one if not boxings biggest draws came and went to some degree.

If you know boxing then you know Shane and he's right there. But it's obvious Floyd isn't concerned with fighting die hard challenges moreso fighting who the public thinks are the fighters to beat.

Public = people who don't know boxing like we do. They still think Tyson is going to make a comeback and become the undisputed HW Champion.

thats the fight i want to see.. i wanna see the 2 best p4p fighters.. even tho mayweather would probably loose he would help boxing by making this fight.. and there could be a rematch or a trilogy for both too retire and ride off into the sunset... if mayweather is waiting for mosely to get old , thats not going to happen.. shane style is built on him and he looked faster then ever against collazo who is somewhat like a left handed version of mayweather himself.. i wanna see this fight

                Real Heavy:

If Floyd is scared of SSM, why did he offer Shane a fight back at 135? And why did he offer Shane a fight in 2006?

                Please help me understand this.

I give you those guys. Please name the other "greats": A way-past-his-prime Pernell? A toasted Chavez?

Please name the ten greats for me. Thanks in advance.

BTW, What is Oscar's record against the "greats" that I listed above?

Why didn't Floyd and Shane fight in 2006? Does anyone remember?
