I like you. You probably have brown eyes. I like brown eyes.Tyson, I agree with a significant amount of this post.
Firstly, I am in no ways disrespecting anyone who is pro any fighter because Floyd is great, but he is not my fav. I love the sport, period. However, like any sport we need to remember MONEY IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT. Period. That is the way it is and not just with Floyd.
I have never once stated that he is not all about it, he says it. And I quote, "IT'S N OT A BLACK THING. IT'S NOT A WHITE THING. IT'S A GREEN THING."
As far as the sparring partner, it's not non sense. I never stated that all greats do not take on that role at some point. Of course they do. However, Shane was at one time considered one of the very best p4p and just finished publically being the sparring partner for a fighter he "beat" twice in one of the biggest bouts in boxing history. He is not exactly in a DEMANDING position. What can he demand right now, after the world just watched him play sparring partner to a loser. (In the sense that DLH lost to Floyd.)
That is not being mean, it's being honest. Now, as far as Shane's spirit, I do question it. I question it because like every other fighter including PBF, he wants to make as much money as possible, which is why he has avoided Floyd in the past. Not because he was ducking. The money was not where he wanted to be and the other time, he was vacationing with his family. Now, Floyd whipped Oscar. Shane knows the fight will make a grip and he wants to fight now. Sorry, no respect for that Tyson because it's garbage.
I agree with everything else you stated. But, remembering this is a sport like any other. That is not to say that a fighter lacks passion and love of what he does. Just CASH RULES EVERYTHING AROUND. It's that simple.
And, I agree Floyd needs to take on some of the bigger names in his prime, but what names would that be as of now??????
What have we seen Mosley do as of late besides spar? Who is Cotto but an "Up and coming"?
Maybe Margarito, but he still needs to prove some things as well. Floyd may need to make some believers out of a few, but he has proven enough to be in the commanding position he is in now, regardless of anyone's sentiments.
But I just can't agree with the sparring partner-thing. If Mosley wants to keep himself sharp, why not sparr with the best you can?
DLH in fighting form is 10 times what the normal sparring partners can do, so I think that was a smart move for Shane. At least he knows in his heart what he has left now, based on how that sparring went.
And he looks pretty damn confident right now, so I believe he did rather well..
I've stated in other posts that I think it is garbage the way Mosley is acting, saying no last year and bitching for a fight this year when the money is there.
I agree with you on that.
However, there's more to building a legacy than fighting who you like best.
Even though Floyd hate Mosley for acting like a jackass, he should still fight him for the sake of the fans. For the sport. For honor.
Oh, wait. That doesn't exist anymore...
The all-time greats like Duran, Pryor, Julio C Chavez and the like is probably disgusted by today's "champions".
I know I am.
Floyd should fight Mosley first. Then the winner of Margarito- Williams.
He shouldn't just wait for all the fighters in his division beats eachother, while he sits back and relax. That's not what a real champion would do...Comment

Watch the first fight. Shane won. He beat Oscar. End of.Comment

Were you under Oscar's desk sucking his **** while he was having this discussion with Mosley? You're a joke...Oscar ordered Mosley to not fight him, cause shane couldve beaten floyd, and oscar wanted him undefeated........its ****ing obvious....you can call shane oscar's ***** if you want(he isnt, but i guess you mayweather ball licker's cant have any other reasoning for it), but you cant call him a coward.....Comment

Im not calling mosley a *****, but if he really thinks floyd is a ***** (i dont think he does, its all talk) i think he is sadly mistaken.
I think this is floyd's next big money fight, if he ever came back, and it would take silly money to get floyd into the ring again, saw him in a few interviews, he's doing other things outside the ring, doesnt seem in a hurry to come back unless the money is right.
But hey i take this talk with a pinch of salt, i think mosley mayweather and de la hoya have respect for each other as fighters, i know cotto does too, actually cotto is quite respectful towards other fighters, his interview with zab judah was very good, held himself well.
well, im calling that ***** a *****. he is. he is a *****boy and a flame, and i mean that ****. this dude trying to get some money and his name aint got no weight no more. he aint a household no more.
but yall know all this **** is scripted anyway. shane pretending he could mimic floyd as a sparring partner. all this is a lead into them two *****s fighting cause they gone fight.
cotto a lil up and coming i like though. he is very respectful. he fight dirty and **** but that ***** still sweet and on the come up floyd a dog him right now though
that ***** floyd aint staying away long though he'll be back sooner than we think cause no matter what people ssay fightin in his blood. it's what he is and what he know and that is what it isComment

you on some ****, man. i agree with this ****, too.
mosley a buster and floyd need to get in his ass, too. floyd can shut these muhukas up if he want to. like you said, though the honor aint there no more. kinda sadComment

Tyson, I understand your point. I guess I just feel that eventually, enough will have to be enough, you know.
Floyd should do it and in that order. Now, if Floyd wins all of those fights, which he is capable of, the what? A lot of people just want to see him lose. If that does not happen with any of these fights, then it will still be Floyd's a *****. He's this and that and he will be 35 somewhere with people challenging his legacy and contesting he needs to fight the "next up and coming" who will destroy him if he does, blase', blase'.
I guess I just feel that he would be wise to beat those names and move on because there is ALWAYS someone better. However, is he a fool or not to have no desire to stick around and find out who can beat him???
While it's not Mosley or Cotto, IMO. Someone can. I am not mad at him for leaving on a high note. I would like to see him and Mosley and him and Margarito. After that, I don't think much more is necessary to validate the fact that the boy is bad.Comment

Hilarious, Mosley has challenged floyd to fights MANY times, but floyd was too scared and wouldnt move up in weight till Mosley was gone and moved up as well. And floyd challenged Mosley when he knew he wasnt 100% , who would accept a fight at less than 100%??? and allll the mayweather marks out there refuse to see floyds strategy. All the fighters he is afraid of fighting cause he knows he would get exposed and beat he says they arent in his league money wise and keeps running that no talent mouth of his.
and there is NOTHING bad about floyd except his boxing skills. A runner is what he is, there is a difference between ring generalship (IE Roy Jones Jr) and Running (IE Mayweather) Floyd has handpicked most of his opponents, and all the big names hes fought hes gone into a decision to those ****** judges who know nothing about boxing.Last edited by owenrock69; 06-22-2007, 09:44 AM.Comment
