I believe the first time I heard when the fight was presented to Mosley was before the Vargas fights where SSM was trying to get his confidence back. Taking a fight with Mayweather at that time didn't seem like the best decision for SSM coming off the losses to Winky. He even turned down a Margarito fight for the same reason. The second time was after the second Vargas fight & I'm not sure why he turned him down. It sure as hell wasn't because SSM was scared.

Did you not see the second bout agains DLH in his prime. I was a HUGE Mosley fan when they fought and can admit, DLH was robbed. I have never been a fan of his. You need to revisit both fights, dear.


Mosley did not beat him the second go round and IMO, the first was not too wide of a margin.

We fans should absolutely NOT be patient. We are the only ones who can put pressure on fighters to face eachother. We pay their bills, so why can't we decide who will face who?

I agree with you that Mosley doesn't deserve the fight with Mayweather, since he avoided him last year.

But you should not be so angry towards people who think Mayweather should fight the best contenders out there.
The sparring partner nonsense is ******. Everybody is a sparringpartner, and so what?
I just saw a videoclip of Mayweather being a sparringpartner to Spadafora, and got his ass handed to him. (He was out of shape, so no mystery there)

You as a fan can't say that Mayweather doesn't do it for the money when he openly admits it to the world. That just make you look too biased.

Shane's been in there with the best there is. Prime DLH and Winky is by no means easier fights than Mayweather.

Floyd is dellusional if he thinks he can make the same amount of money as he did against Oscar, but he's larger than life in his own mind.
I think Floyd is easily the best boxer P4P, but he needs to prove it to us all if he want to be considered great.
Mosley is actually making alot of sense right now, because he is the best available fighter in the WW division now.
Cotto has not earned it quite yet.

Firstly, I am in no ways disrespecting anyone who is pro any fighter because Floyd is great, but he is not my fav. I love the sport, period. However, like any sport we need to remember MONEY IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT. Period. That is the way it is and not just with Floyd.

I have never once stated that he is not all about it, he says it. And I quote, "IT'S N OT A BLACK THING. IT'S NOT A WHITE THING. IT'S A GREEN THING."


As far as the sparring partner, it's not non sense. I never stated that all greats do not take on that role at some point. Of course they do. However, Shane was at one time considered one of the very best p4p and just finished publically being the sparring partner for a fighter he "beat" twice in one of the biggest bouts in boxing history. He is not exactly in a DEMANDING position. What can he demand right now, after the world just watched him play sparring partner to a loser. (In the sense that DLH lost to Floyd.)


That is not being mean, it's being honest. Now, as far as Shane's spirit, I do question it. I question it because like every other fighter including PBF, he wants to make as much money as possible, which is why he has avoided Floyd in the past. Not because he was ducking. The money was not where he wanted to be and the other time, he was vacationing with his family. Now, Floyd whipped Oscar. Shane knows the fight will make a grip and he wants to fight now. I agree with everything else you stated. But, remembering this is a sport like any other. That is not to say that a fighter lacks passion and love of what he does. Just CASH RULES EVERYTHING AROUND. It's that simple.


And, I agree Floyd needs to take on some of the bigger names in his prime, but what names would that be as of now??????

Maybe Margarito, but he still needs to prove some things as well. Floyd may need to make some believers out of a few, but he has proven enough to be in the commanding position he is in now, regardless of anyone's sentiments.

Both De la Hoya and Shane werent in their prime in their second fight.....but De la Hoya was having a great run at 154

In the first one they were in their prime, but DLH had distractions after suffering his first loss...

But it happens in boxing that fighters cant be 100% every fight...i think they wouldve gone 1-1 anyway...

Im not calling mosley a *****, but if he really thinks floyd is a ***** (i dont think he does, its all talk) i think he is sadly mistaken.

I think this is floyd's next big money fight, if he ever came back, and it would take silly money to get floyd into the ring again, saw him in a few interviews, he's doing other things outside the ring, doesnt seem in a hurry to come back unless the money is right.

But hey i take this talk with a pinch of salt, i think mosley mayweather and de la hoya have respect for each other as fighters, i know cotto does too, actually cotto is quite respectful towards other fighters, his interview with zab judah was very good, held himself well.
