I Know Why Boxing Is Declining And Here's Why!!

    It's simple.

People just don't take boxers seriously anymore. You want to know why boxing was so popular during Mike tyson's reign and back in the 70's??? because the heavyweights of yesteryear were FEARSOME. People respect what they fear, and if they see a huge ass dude like lennox lewis or tyson, they're going to respect and be drawn to them, but most importantly be fearful of them and their size and power.

You can't get that kinda impact with lower weights, I mean come on honestly, if a guy like pacquiao or mosely ever came up to you and gave you a mean look, would you actually feel threatened. Sure these guys are warriors, but are they warriors on the street?? HELL NO!!! they'd get beat down by any big dude they came across, which is why the average guy has a hard time taking dudes that look like toothpicks seriously.

Why else do you think MMA is on the rise?? because those guys are the epitome of badassness, they're huge, cut up, and mean mutha****as, and those are the guys people respect, not a bunch of short skinny ****s.

Boxing in the lower weight division is generally laughable, which is why boxing itself is going into the gutter. If I wanted to see 5'3-5"5 "children" slugging it out, I would just put on a pair of "Sock em Boppers" on my lil bros, and watch em duke it out.

The heavyweight division needs to get cleaned up, hell throw in a superheavyweight division if you have to, in order to bring the golden age of boxing back again.

i seen 5/4 or 5 people beating the **** out of bigger people.....trust me man heavyweight in my point of view is not needed as much boxing still makes money they just have to put more non ppv fights and youll see.

boxing is not declining, white boys interest in boxing is declining. there is no white floyd mayweather or mike tyson so the white writers want to instill in people's mind that boxing is dying yet floyd and hoya two non-heavies do 2.15 million buys. sorry boxing is very alive

and what makes pavlik special..what is his style or technique. pavlik has terrible form and taylor will beat him based on footwork alone.

Everything bigtime9 wrote in this topic is bull****. Joe Calzaghe, Mikkel Kessler, Kelly Pavlik, Klits brothers(basically the whole heavyweight division is white if you want to bring race into it). And I'm glad theres no white fighter like Floyd, or if there is I never heard of the white floyd and I don't want to.
