I don't understand why that didn't happen in the Urango fight. I remember back in the old days fighters would either get a point deducted or the fight would be over. I remember seeing that in an old Tyson. The guy was clinching too much and referee stopped the fight and declared Tyson the winner. They need to enforce that again because its not fair to the fans to go through that.Comment

If the boxer was any good, he wouldn't allow his opponent to clinch. And when they do clinch, do the cotto thing and start swinging away. Thats what cotto did to judah, when judah kept holding. And then judah looked at the ref, and the ref said you're holding judah!!!Comment

in real american boxing excessive clinching it outlawed...

Ya ever see former *American* champ, John Ruiz fight?
Stop this bull**** about selectively trying to apply nonexistent clinching rules to fighters you don't happen to like. Let them change the rules if they want, but don't try to apply non-existent rules selectively.
And where ARE the rules of boxing, by the way? - or does Don King and his in-house refs and judges just sort of make them up as they go along?

Rather a political post don't you think? Hatton fans are on the whole fairly realistic. Hatton got criticism for his holding late in the Urango fight on his own message board. To hold being realistic about your favourite fighter as some sort of weakness is frankly pathetic. Hatton's performance against Urango was awesome for six rounds, dominant for three rounds and disappointing for the last three, and there's no point in trying to deny it. The fact remains that most of Hatton's fights have been entertaining and exciting, and even the bad fights have had their exciting moments.
Good post.
