The 2nd fight SRL fought his style and we now have the infamous "NO MAS". Strategic or not the outcome was the outcome.
**** strategy it was De la Hoya's stategic plan to make PBF fight at 154, uses Reyes gloves and fight in a smaller ring and he still lost but PBF gets no credit.
I don't mind debating mythical match ups but they should not be spoken of in factual terms because we will never know.
Durans defense is grossly underestimated. He was an excellent boxer and counter puncher.
Durans power is legendary. What other fighter would be able to carry there power all the way from 130lbs to 160lbs and still have KO ability?
Duran's chin is also great. Duran was able to stand in there and **** with big punching jrMW's and MW's. He was KO'd only by a Legendary middleweight who caught him flush with his signature punch This is also when Duran is about 35years old and past his prime. PBF wouldn't be able to hurt Duran.
Duran's work rate and stamina. In his prime he had 15 rounders and even at 35 years old he went the distance with Hagler and Barkley.
Duran had excellent footwork and boxing skills. He wouldn't just stand square in front of PBF like DLH did. He would hop to the side get angles and make it a rough fight on the inside.
Of course non-of these are "FACTS" but by your standards PBF's speed and defense are non-facts either.

Thats one of the things you gotta love about him. PBF, RJJ and many other great fighters will all have that "What if he fought" next to there name. Duran never has to have that shadow diminish the glimmer of his name.
This is my problem with Floyd. I suspect he would beat other top welters but I cannot credit it unless he sits atop the welter division as champ and lets the cream rise then puts them back down.
Floyd's skills are great.
Floyd's attitude will mean he is never an ATG.
Based on visible, actual achievement Floyd is not even close to Duran. I also believe that Floyd would be battered by him at all weights but that is purely conjecture.
Noone has ever been able to question Duran's choices of opposition.
