Styles make fights. Leonard struggled less as he moved up the weights than Duran did but Duran was arguably the better fighter, especially at his prime weight.

Mayweather is reliant on speed and skills to be dominant, Hatton is reliant on strength and workrate. Floyd's relative speed doesn't suffer as much as Hatton's relevant strength as you move up in weight.

Plus Floyd is a much more skilled fighter, you would be daft to deny this.

What about floyd's strength? Hatton moved up 7 pounds in weight class, floyd moved up 24 pounds in weight class, and floyd still dominated against a guy who weighed nearly a stone heavier than him,

And hatton has weighs more than floyd lol, he's the one who should be moving up weights.

and you really believe that a 7 pound difference make ricky a different fighter?

He doesnt even have to weigh 147 on fight night, he can come in below that if he likes, i think it's excuses personally.

I think that Ricky's advantages at 140 lbs are negated somewhat at a higher weight. Floyd never used his strength even at 130 lbs, so he's definitely not using it at 154 lbs. It just isn't an important part of his game. He relies on speed and defense, while Hatton relies on muscle. Of course you know this.

For the record I think we'll see Hatton at 147 lbs again, and I think he'll perform well, but the likelyhood is it will only be against former 140 lbers.
