Question: Why does UFC and Boxing have 2 different Demographics in America?

I know there are the Exceptions but im talking about the general fan base.

How come Boxing is mainly filled with an Ethnic Fan base in America?

While UFC majority are White suburban teens girls and guys watching it?

    Can someone Explain this?

Same reason for the skateboard, surfing, beach volleyball, tennis fan base differences. Boxing is about money. Mixed martial arts is not.

I think it's a tradional embracing of styles.

White flight from urban areas made boxing a bit more accessible for ********** to participate as well as compete.

The farmlands and 'burbs carry a long tradition in Folk and Catch wrestling that goes back hundreds of years and permiates through Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. A really good portion of MMA's fanbase are from that amatuer wrestling base. Hell, several MMA meccas share the same cities as several Amatuer wrestling meccas.

The biggest franchise in MMA is UFC and for most MMA fans it's the only franchise. Boston Pizza shows the UFC pay per views constantly and the Pride shows never. I know Pride has now gone but even before it disaappeared you never saw other MMA than UFC.

And you can't seriously tell me that UFC isn't about money.

Your right. Where Im from here in Colorado, wrestling is pretty big, we sell out the Pepsi Center every year for the State tournament and a ton of people are UFC fans. Plus most of my friends who were wrestlers love UFC, basically because of the wrestling aspect of MMA.

But you also got to keep in mind, the UFC charges at least $500 to sports bars if they want to display their shows.

Pride 32 was going for $3,000.

It not about money as it is good business practices.

i dont think the majority of the surfer boys and rich preppy frat boys are wrestlers, or those skanky white girls in the audience...how did they get to watching ufc?

you never see that many of those kinda people at boxing matches.
