the selections dont make sense to be a "just title holder" he would have to be able to beat some of them guys

I don't know. Floyd would have trouble especially since he isn't a natural 147. I know people disagree but I think he could beat Duran.

20 years ago is 1987 so this poll doesn't make sense. The Fab 4 was long gone from the ranges Floyd fights in. Floyd 20 years ago probably doesn't even go to 147 because Lloyd Honeyghan and Marlon Starling would have been too big for him he could have made a ton at 135 and 140. He'd be one of the best fighters in the world with an emerging Mike Tyson and Julio Cesar Chavez and he and Chavez or Whitaker would be budding superfights.

Furthermore, he'd be good in any era after 1960 because the volume of fights could have been managable and he's still probably, best night for best night, the best ever at 130. Floyd would never have made it too far prior to that because his hands wouldn't have held up and the money would have forced him to fight too often. Can't have bad hands against Hank or Beau Jack.

Seeing as how those guys were fighting at 160 20 years ago....I think Floyd would be stomped.

If he fought Hearns at 154 he'd be knocked out in 4 rounds or less.

Hagler at 160? Fuhgetaboutit...

His best shot would be against Duran at 154...but even that would be a rough outing. He would stand a chance in that one though as Duran was considerably slower as he moved up.

Floyd today against Duran 1987 is a joke...he'd destroy THAT Duran and Roberto could weigh whatever he wants. Now Floyd 2002 v. Duran 1972 (the year each won the lightweight title)...Floyd gets stomped by that Duran.

Now, if you put Floyd 25 years back in 1982...again, he doesn't go to 147 period. He stays at 30, 35 and 40 and he's still great. Camacho, Mancini, Arguello, Watt, Chacon, Limon, Boza...he beats them all. Pryor? Great fight but I lean to Aaron.
