    Why Wont Cotto Fight Hatton?

For Americans, a normal fight against Hatton in England is big but not huge. Cotto should fight Margarito instead of that. However, now there talking about Wembly. 90,000!!!!!!! Its obvious Floyd wont go over there. I know its a bit of a scary thing for anyone but someone needs to do it.

They would make a Floyd fight there because he's the biggest win out there but there probally isnt anyone else they could or would do that for besides Cotto and maybe Mosley. Guys like Zab, Clottey, & Margarito would do it in a heartbeat but thats too much high risk low reward for Hatton.

Cotto is the hottest name in the sport right now. A Margarito-Cotto fight is big but its definatly not huge. Arum just knows he can get money both ways. Still, Cotto could get rich if he took the Hatton fight and I know both guys would take that fight. Hatton may not have looked great at 147 but he still beat a very solid guy in Callazo and I just know that he thinks he can beat Cotto for some reason. As of right now mostly everyone would pick Cotto in that fight and he would still get a ton of credit for winning. It would be the experince of a Life Time and he would get rich off that fight. To me its also lower risk then a Margarito fight with alot more money. I know its scary to go overseas with there funny refs who allow anything and stop fights quick combined with there crooked judges but this fight wouild be so huge. It also sets up a Mayweather fight for the winner. If Cotto wins then his stock would be so high and if Hatton wins then I think Floyd would fall in love after seeing a fight with 90,000 people at it and knowing that Hatton would throw huge bucks at him to come over.

To me this fight makes so much sense and I think it could be fairly easy to make. I think Hatton would possibly consider Mosley. He's the only other guy that would sell out Wembly and they know it would be a super fight but he's also older and the people may try to take something away from hattons win while at the same time he still may be the best guy at 147 so its very dangerous. Thats why Cotto is the only logical choice and I cant believe that no one is talking about that more including those 2 fighters but if he does good against JLC then I think there may be more talk about that fight. Hatton is probally just not going to sale huge in the states. There are alot of good fighters who would go over there to fight him but there either just a step under elite or there too much high risk low reward

Hatton won't ever go back to 147. Most people wouldn't even consider this a competitive fight...

I hope you guys read the whole post. The title may be a little misleading. I wasnt saying it like Cotto is scared of Hatton. I just meant that this is the fight that Cotto should really take next and I honestly believe Hatton would except because it seems like though he wants to retire real soon and is probally only interested in fighting Floyd, Cotto, or Oscar. If he really stands by what he's been saying

Funny thing is when I heard the British post-fight commentary they also agreed that Hatton-Cotto would be great. They said something to the effect of pairing them up "would be a natural".

I would love to see this fight but I dont think its really upto Cotto. I think its more of a question of will Hatton come up to WW? This fight sells anywhere but it makes more money in Vegas than UK.

No, Mayweather needs to fight him. So people on this website feel ****ing ******ed. So, people stop holding on to floyd's ****. Cotto would apply more pressure, being the strongest puncher, and a guy who has cut the ring off from people like malinaggi and judah. No wheres to run floyd. The smaller the arena, the better for cotto. Floyd only likes to fight old men, not a young guy who could punch a hole through him.

Wow, you really think that about the money? I cant see a Vegas fight making more then 90,000 at Wembly and all there PPV's. I dont really keep track of what there PPV's look like so I dont know what there normal amount of buys are but I know that they care way more about boxing then the US does anymore

It depends what time they show it at. The Tszyu fight did 205k at 2.00am so you could expect 300k+ at normal viewing time but they'd have to put it on delay for the US.

Wembley will be a great venue for boxing. With the roof closed the accoustics are immense.

Its not about ticket sales in Vegas. If that was the case they would use MSG because it has more seating for Mega Fights.

The Casinos individually and as groups pay HUGE amounts of money to host boxing fights. The influx of fans on a Mega fight weekend brings in tens to hundreds of millions into the casino's.

I know a group of Missippi Casinos paid $13-$15 million dollars to host the Lewis-Tyson fight. This is aside from ticket sales. No UK venue could've matched that no matter how many seats they sold.
