Willie Pep or Pernell. Its a toss up. Its always hard to compare guys across eras.
Right underneath them I got Mayweather, Wright, Hopkins from our era.

I'm not sure if you can really put Mayweather, Wright and Hopkins above RJJ.

Consider this: 3 of PBF's toughest opponents Castillo, Zab, Corrales. Against Castillo and Zab PBF was hit a good amount. He won those fights but he was getting caught too. PBF was at his prime too and look at the first 5 rounds of the Zab.

The same is true of Wright and Hopkins.

I'm not saying they dont have excellent defenses but you can't compare it to what RJJ was able to do in his prime.

RJJ in his prime was unhittable. His reflexes were just superhuman. The only time people use to get ANY decent leather on RJJ was when he clowned around and went against the ropes. He destroyed Hopkins and Toney who are both excellent fighters but couldn't find him.

        I still have:
        Pep
        Pernell
        Benitez
        RJJ

        No particular order.

You do realize that Zab landed 18% of his punches in that fight against Floyd...

Zab landed 2 punches worth remembering in that entire fight. A righthook in round 2, which sent Floyd off balance, and a straight left that went right through Floyd's gaurd in round 4...

If that's "a fair amount" then you need to lay off the coke.

Roy was a lot like Pep? How so?

If anyone, I think Floyd resembles Pep's style more than anyone.

I'll admit I'm an RJJ hater. Yeah Toney and Hopkins both really couldn't find him. But who else did he fight that was even remotely dangerous? When he was at his peak he had good reflex D but who knows what would have happened if he had fought some better opponents.

We know Zab faded in that fight. Look at the first 5 rounds and you'll see PBF get hit with more clean shots than RJJ was hit with in an entire fight (Pre-Ruiz).

I'm not saying that PBF isn't a great defensive fighter. I'm just saying he is not as good as RJJ.
