i for one am not on mayweathers nutts. if it has to do with pride gatti of course, if it has to do with money, mayweather. gatti will always be known as a true warrior in the ring (fact). mayweather will never be known as a true warrior in the ring. the smart person would pick mayweather, but i have too much machizmo in my blood, so i'd pick gattiComment

yes. I would go with mayweather because he might not sound like his dumb-ass criminal *****-father when he retires because he doesnt get hit, but as far as going into boxing to find greatness and leave a POSITIVE legacy instead of how to cheat the fans out of their money, Gatti all the way.Comment

I would definitely like to be Mayweather, even though I love Gatti his health isn't going to be the greatest down the road. Plus Mayweather is 5x champ and makes good change. Plus with all the hate Mayweather gets, I would like that because knowing when I beat somebody I know I would have dissapointed thousands of people.Comment

Mayweather took less punishment - He probably has no long term injuries from boxing besides his hands.Comment

And if you do, are you always a blood and guts warrior? You never block a punch?
Let me tell you guys something; it is incredibly easy to stand in the ring and get your face punched in. Takes no effort whatsoever.
You can't seriously critisize a skilled boxer for not blocking punches with his face, can you? Then why do you?
You can dislike the fact that many boxers are interested in money and low-risk fights, sure. But c'mon, it's the rest of their life at stake, and you shouldn't disrespect them for climbing in that ring. Especially if you don't have the guts to do it yourself.
Now, I'm just an amateur boxer with a lousy record of 10-8. (I've been injured alot, so not very active)
But 8 of those wins came by knockout. See? I'm not much of a technician...
I won my 7 first fights, 6 by KO, and thought this game was easy.
But then I was sent out in europe, fighting guys with 150-200 fights. They picked me apart like there was no tomorrow, and I realized that power is nothing without control... Since then, I've been studying all those you hate to watch, Mayweather, Jones jr, Pep etc.
I figured if I learn to frustrate a guy instead of being hit in the head, I might have a future.
So when people starts disrespecting technical skill, and defensive proveness, I know that that person clearly doesn't understand the sport...
And, TheEvilSaint, I'm not aiming this for you!Comment

If you were a fighter and you could have the same exact career as either of these fighters, which would you choose?
Mayweather
-Universally recognized as the #1 P4P fighter in the sport.
-5 Division Champion.
-3 Division Lineal Champion.
-A skilled boxer who uses speed, technique, and skill to beat his opponents.
-Retire undefeated. Only coming close to defeat twice in his career.
-Some consider him a boring fighter.
-Known as one of the biggest **** talkers in the sport.
-Hated by many for his arrogance and loud mouth.
-Have people calling your resume weak.
-Guaranteed first ballot Hall of Famer.
Gatti
-Known as the "Ultimate Blood and Guts Warrior."
-Best known for having some of the most exciting fights of your generation, particularly the trilogy with Ward.
-3 Division Champion.
-Never a lineal champ.
-Loved by many for his fighting style.
-Losses to to fighters such as Angel Manfredy, Ivan Robinson, and Micky Ward.
-Not considered one of the elite fighters of his era.
-Not a guarantee to make it into the Hall of Fame.Comment

Mayweather is recognised by most as the best in the buisness and has been for a few years now,he's still undefeated and has won world titles at many different weights.
Gatti is a blood and guts warrior who has been in some exciting wars but he has been beat by all of the best fighters that he faced.
I would say Mayweather.Comment
