Remember what happened to Johnson? I see a similar ending for Peter.
Peter was knocked down in the last round of his fight with Wlad. Peter has never been KOed though and as you say, Vitali may well KO Peter. But Peter has to get by Oleg Maskaev, and that's not a given...

You've got to be ****ting me. That's the most assenine thing I've heard this year. I refuse to believe that HBO won't be televising this fight. Didn't they have Vitali as well as his brother? They surely aren't ****** enough to miss an opportunity to put such a long awaited return on Saturday night.

...I wouldn't be surprised to see them pick this fight up for coverage.

If Vitali is even close to the fighter he was, Peter will not be able to rabbit punch Vitali if he tries all night long, it's just not possible with Vitali's style. Vitali will mop the floor with Peter's ass. Damn, I can't wait for that fight to happen...

I don't think he went down, but he was certainly on ***** street. I'd have to watch it again (I have it saved to DVR, have watched it several times), but I don't recall him actually going down. But no, I know he's never been KO'd. He's got a ****ing titanium chin, rating up there with Vitali. Some of those right hands Wlad hit him with were knocking down members of Peter's family in Nigeriam, and were causing temporal disturbances in the time-space continium, but he barely moved. It was a left hook that set him to doing the chicken dance.

Regarding Oleg....I think Samual will KO the monster. I've seen him hurt by slightly lesser punchers, and he's so hittable it's unbelievable. His big strength is.....well, his size and strength. I think someone like Peter, who's capable of putting a huge amount of power in the right place, in combinations (and Peter has been improving greatly in throwing combinations) will put the giant on his ass for the 10 count.

Ranked, you mean? I'd say he's probably 5th or 6th, realistically, possibly as low as 10th, but probably not. But remember, styles makes fights. A fighter that one guy can beat, another may not be able to.

Sam Peter is slow. If he was a really good fighter, he wouldn't resort to rabbit punches so often. I rank Lamon Brewster as better than Peter.

I think Brewster is better right now, but Peter is improving constantly. Also, he's not that slow. His handspeed ain't bad, it's just nothing spectacular either. His power is great, he's got good instincts, and he's (lately) willing to put the work in at the gym, too.

The rabbit punches were simply a result of his age and immaturity, frustration, and ******ity (he's not really very bright, you know). I don't think he'll make a career of it. Still pisses me off, though.
