This fight is by no means a foregone conclusion. Both Hatton and Castillo looked lacklustre in there last bouts yet we all know that fighters usually bring their A-Game when the stakes are as high as this.

However, Hatton imo has all the advantages...he is younger and more natural at the weight and it wouldnt surprise me if Castillo's power is less effective at lightwelter. Saying that, its been quite some time since Hatton has been in a fight of this calibre (Tszyu was his last big fight imo) and since he fought KT his performances have somewhat dropped in class due to (imo) the way his weight balloons up between fights.

I just hope we see some quality fights up at welter soon with the top crop all facing each other because in the last 5 years the lightwelter division has had some great potential bouts but boxing politics/greedy promoters etc have deprived us, the fans, of some great wars which is a shame really.

Hatton imo has the potential to become a great fighter who can beat great fighters but as long as he keeps fighting ageing legends he will always have an element of doubt surrounding his claim to the throne.

i think hugman is unfair to describe hattons style,im english and have seen hatton come up from his 3rd pro fight until the present,if you had the chance to view his pre-tszyu fights you would see alot of boxing abillity clean hard punching and great footwork,his last fights have against really owkward foes, the nightmare of maussa,up at welter vs collazo a skillfull southpaw,against urango a bull of a junior welter with a iron chin,its hard to look good with these guys,no excuses for this one,castillo will be right there ready to war,i predict alot of infighting but you will see hatton has taken in fighting to a new level,one castillo won't be ready for..enjoy the fight ,hatton in the 8th...
