That is to say, of course that if Zab would have finished Cotto in the 1st or 3rd Rounds when he had him hurt - and YES Cotto was definately hurt, then you would be correct. -- Well sort of --

I would not have written this, because he still would not have shown the kind of heart he has, and would not have answered the questions about his chin, and he would not have had to keep his cool after getting 2 shots two the balls. (the second was on purpose) He would not have had to fight on with what amounts to 1 eye, so much would have been different. And that of course would have included this thread....
i agree with you on most of that.

i was thinking about it today and i really think that zab doesnt like getting hit.
i know it sounds ****** but he does great till the other guy starts to connect
then he just plays it as safe as possible, while trying to remain "macho"

it happens in all his big fights, i always thought he just couldnt stick
to a gameplan but i fear he genuinely freezes in fear of punches.

        JD,

Zab indeed got to choose how he wanted this fight to end and as you pointed out he went out on his shield something I was not really expecting him to do so for I give him credit, this does quiet (not put to bed) alot of the bad press that Zab has gotten over the past few years regarding his all give and no take kind of style.

Now-he still is a heavy front runner, he looked tough early as always but never won a round past the 7th, this is just plain and simply who he is as a fighter-he is the speed in horse race and unforntunely for Zab the races arent 4 furlongs.

If you would like to call Saturday night a victory for Zab then go for it thats wonderful if thats what you believe but make no mistake about it this was Miguel Cotto's victory and his alone.

But in the case of Jab, because of his infamous tantraums and ****** behaviour, he gets a pat on the head for not losing his cool, and getting TKO'd without throwing stolls around.

He took a couple of low blows, was cut and took some real punishment, but stopped his 'thug'-self from coming out. Well done Jab.

Good post....Great point!!! Sountraveler would you care to elaborate on this ?

Why certainly, Soldier01 - the devils' advocate is only talking about Zab not losing his cool. He doesn't mention anything about the questions people had about Zab, and how Zab answered those questions. Am I giving credit, where credit is do to Zab? - Yes I am, does it bother some people? Yes it does, he is obviously one of them. Perhaps you are too.

Look, some people will focus only on the bad things that happen to or are done by people. By his avatar alone, I see what he is into - and that certainly ain't my thing. I don't knock him for it, but it's not my thing.

I respect Zab for his performance, the same goes for Cotto, if it bothers some people that I see a different perspective from their own - well - good, perhaps a little eye opening is good for the soul.....

Am I one of them ? Absolutely not. I give credit when credit is due. After seeing Zab's performance on Saturday night I have to give him much respect for the valiant effort he put on. I have to give him props because he survived 2 more rounds than I thought he would...LOL

If you talk to Zab give him my warmest regards.

I am proud of Zab too.
I was proud of him when he faked the first low blow.
He should have went for the kill instead of looking for an academy award.
The first shot was not so low that he had to cause that scene.
The second low blow was the real one and was for good measure. That is what you get when you fake a low blow.
Daddy Cotto gave Judah something real to cry about.
                lol
I was also proud of Judah when he took a knee.
Do you know how many fighters take knees against Cotto?
                Many!
I was proud of Judah when he was knocked on his ass.
I was proud of Judah when he accepted defeat.
I was proud of Judah for making 101 excuses at the post fight presser.
He blamed everything and everyone for his loss.

I am proud of that looney looser.

                lol
