Calzaghe will beat kessler comfortably i dnt know about a ko but he'll beat kessler. I really want kessler to win because i hate calzaghe but i know calzaghe is a p4p top ten boxer and he's easly the best 168 pound fighter in the world.

i'm sure calzaghe can get a knockout or tko over any fighter with the way the referee's been favoring him, like in his last fight with manfredo. throw a flurry only land glancing blows, not one significant punch, and the ref will come in and stop it for him, ever time.....................

Calzaghe may be able to overwhelm Kessler, and possibly get a referee on Kessler's home turf to go ahead and stop the fight. I doubt that Calzaghe has the pop to drop Kessler for a full count.

Calzaghe is a good boxer, but for a super middleweight he has no power in his punches. Calzaghe will not win by KO not even TKO, look how much trouble he had Jeff Lacy in and he couldn't finish the job. Not to discredit Jeff Lacy, he is one tough SOB.
Kessler is tough, strong, and he is a solid boxer. He's not just a puncher. Honestly, I'm going for Kessler .... late round stoppage. Calzaghe will win most of the early rounds but Kessler's power will wear him down. I've seen Calzaghe dropped, if i'm not mistaken, more than once. Don't be suprised if Calzaghe gets KO'd in Denmark.

how can someone with a 75% knockout ratio have no power for a super middleweight.

What other super middleweights have more KO's?

I think you misunderstand boxing. You dont try to knock your opponent out with every punch.

Calzaghe lands flurries of punches to score points, if the knockout is there, he will take it.

If the person you are fighting is smart defensively, or is very awkward, it is very difficult to knock them out.

Both Kessler and Calzaghe have good power. I dont know why you think otherwise.

I do agree that Kessler could KO Calzaghe though... but that is possible for any two fighters given the right circumstances

There must be some subtle skill he has that I am missing because I just dont get it..

But the fact remains.. he is successful.. and rarely loses a round..

I still think.. barring a hand injury during the fight.. Or if Calzaghe gets OLD over night.. A UD Victory for JC.. I would only give him a small chance for KO..
                    Kessler:

Has a perfect jab, powerful and very accurate, even if JC can avoid it, it'll still need his attention.

Kessler's straight right does fit well to a southpaw.

                    He has excellent movement.

Perhaps his best weapon, his discipline and stamina.

I've seen plenty of good hooks and uppercuts from Kessler, but he has developed in to a very low risk fighter and it's rare his challenged on inside. And why risk anything if you win every round?

IMO. Kessler could be better than he is, if he took more chances and went for a KO when he has his opponents stunned. Kessler is a much better fighter if he's angry. (look at how they shout Kessler on, before round 12 in the Andrade fight, or how he reacts to dirty tricks in other fights) I sure hope Calzaghe keeps trashtalking all trough the fight .

Calzaghe IS a great fighter, and if anyone has the skills to catch Kessler on the inside, it would have to be him. Kessler has the discipline and timing to move and punch at the right moments.

Kessler might need a little more hart, if he is to finish him off, but Calzaghe has to much, and might go "all in" on the wrong occasion.

BTW. I think it is sad British tv hasn't shown any of Kessler's fights. It seems a bit ******, especially when they have two top contenders in the division. I hope they make up for it, and bring you some treats before the fight. (if it ever happens).
When you rate Kessler against his former opponents, remember, he didn't just beat but out-classed them.

I promise one thing. The fear of Kessler being dismissed as a hypejob after the fight won’t come true. Kessler delivers his best at every fight, and I'm sure he will win even your respect, with or without three belts after the fight.

Damn, I hope for this fight to be made.

I think the reason people doubt Calzaghe still got his former KO power, is due to only 1 tko in the last 5 of Calzaghe's real fights. (manfredo wasn’t hurt, and was stopped because of lack of skills rather than awesome power – not a real stoppage, not a real fight)
I assume Kessler is the hardest hitting of the two at the moment.
