cotto's weakness...

I think Bob Papa put it best on the "Countdown to Cotto/Judah" when he said, and I'm quoting here. "The problem with Miguel Cotto is when you watch him fight, he gets hit too much for a guy who is supposed to be considered elite." I don't see that as a major drawback, it's just that Cotto is a Puerto Rican fighter with a crowd pleasing style and mentality.
The problem is, if Judah is on his A game (which we're all expecting), getting tagged that often could spell defeat especially with Judah's speed and power. Cotto needs to mentally defeat Zab because the guys who've beat Zab, beat him mentally first.Comment

ok, so you're basing it on what?? cause Cotto got rocked a few times? Care to explain, brother. Floyd and Zab do have similarities. Floyd has crazy stamina...can't say that about Zab. Cotto is not weight drained, and makes weight rather easy @ 147. should Zab not establish a game plan, utilize the iab...his "Super" speed, will wear down by round 5....GARUANTEED! Cotto has crazy stamina. Cotto TKO 9th!Comment

For sure! What better way to build up strategy, get a game plan going...by studying your opponents foot work, combos, see what his weakness are, and what to look out for. I guess Cotto believes in that 'ol saying..."don't worry about crossing the bridge till you get there". In other words, he just "rolls with the punches". you're right though. It'll make him better "Prepared".Comment

i mean mayweather can do that, because he has enough skills to adjust to a fighter (box on the outside)......imo cotto needs to improve that and i believe that he can with a lil bit more studying on tapes not of oppo but to immulate different styles for him to box....like camacho sort of a defensive style but can brawl if he has to or at timesFor sure! I see what you're saying. and also "PRESSURE" is the ideal way to get to Zab Judha. But one must expect to get tagged "IF" you came to throw down! I think lots of folks watch Cotto for many reasons. You certainly will not be denied of an exciting, entertaining, roller-coaster of a fight. Think about it...If your favorite fighter just completely dominates his opponent, you may be happy he won, but you know deep down it wasn't entertaining. I used to enjoy watching Roy Jones Jr. But really, after a while it got boring. To be "Elite" doesn't neccesarily mean you don't get knocked down, or can't be touched. Elite is being on top. I am a fan of Zab Judha, and Miguel Cotto is my boy! Defining fight for both....Cotto TKO 9th!I think Bob Papa put it best on the "Countdown to Cotto/Judah" when he said, and I'm quoting here. yes he needs to work on movement and D but he does do this and is improving. If you watch his recent fights he is getting much better at catching punches and gettting into position. This is complicated by the fact that he has fought a lot of South paws here lately but he also comes to fight and will pressure you even if it means taking a few to put some poison on your ass. This may be his undoing but at least he might go down guns a blazin instead of running backwards unlike some fighters I dont need to mention.I think Bob Papa put it best on the "Countdown to Cotto/Judah" when he said, and I'm quoting here.
