Is Larry Merchant a "PACQUAIO" hugger?

I disagree. Merchant came from a different era of fights and Pac fits the bill. There arent alot of guys like Pac that roll through and boxing needed a guy like him.

I do agree that Merchant is insane though. When RJJ 1st turned pro, Merchant dissed the **** out of him saying "well hes no SRL," amongst other stuff. I have all of both fighters fights and their amatuer **** and RJJ was obviously a far more talented fighter.

Not just that but the last 10 or so years he's been a real douchebag. Just recently, after the Cal.PMJ fight, did he come back into my graces. He did bug in Pac.Morales 3 and in Pavlik.Miranda. He is flawed, but I dont think hesa Pac nuthugger.

pac is afraid to fight marquez....but who can blame him after marquez used his face to clean the ring floor...it shows how intelligence always exposes no talents....run pac run.................price yourself out of the fight again....the end cometh.........

larry only likes fighters who come to actually fight no matter what. guys who give it a 110% in the ring under any circumstances. anyone short of that and larry doesn't show any support towards them at all really.

lets put it this way, if Floyd fought like Manny ( all out assault ) larry wouldn't talk **** or discredit his wins or anything he does because he respects guys who take BIG RISKS during their fights....................

and that goes for any fighter when it comes to larry.

****, if floyd fought as aggressive as a Aaron Pryor or Pacquiao, Larry would probably blow floyd on the air after a fight.

Id be a liar if i said he wasnt!!! It is hard not to like Pacman!!! Its alot easier to dislike Merchant!!! I cant stand him!!!

Ding Ding! This is why Larry praises Manny so much! This is what boxing used to be. Larry is not a huge fan of Mayweather and Byrd and others very reluctant to get into the thick of the fight and content to bore the fans into submission and win by boring UD.

This is why he likes Manny Pacquiao, Joan Guzman, Jorge Arce, Jorge Barrios, Erik Morales type fighters. Have these fighters ever given us a boring round?

I'm sure Larry appreciates the technical aspects of the sweet science....but boxing at its core is a violent sport. It's not patty-cake-patty-cake. And Larry, as old as he is, needs MORE exciting matches or he falls asleep like old people do when they're at rest. Boxing should be getting people's hearts pumping.

Someone priced himself out 2 years ago, and instead got what he deserved.

Maybe Merchant never hugged someone as talented as that guy because he's not worth more than 30K.
