No doubt Merchant loves Manny and is unafraid to show it. However I believe the reason he always brings him up is because Pacquiao is a fighter who is good for the sport, as far as excitement and exposure go. So much is talked of Mayweather, who is, the polar opposite of what Merchant expects a fighter to be.

I absolutely love Larry Merchant, despite being a bit biased towards certain favorites he's not a bit afraid to verbally bitchslap Lampley on-air when Lampley (the far greater nuthugger) is being too biased or simply, making an ass of himself.

Seriously though, the ref could've stopped the fight after the 3rd Knockd Down because Marquez wasn't protecting himself very well against Pac's left hand, which is why Marquez was covering his face in disappointment after he got KD'd the 3rd time because I'm sure he thought he lost until he realizes the ref was still counting.
