Yeah but Liakhovich is the one who caused the eye injury, and its easy for someone to say they hurt it in the first round. No one really knows for sure. He was dominating Briggs until he got caught and he was obviously out of shape in that fight. A focused and in shape Liakhovich could possibly win.

he Is in terms of popular opinion but he still needs to prove it and unify. He's had three losses, a dodgy fight with TOS and a shaky fight with Peter. I still think the guy is vulnerable and can be taken in deep water and drowned again. We shall see, provided he fights the right fights.Comment

no he wont. I think sultan would knock him out. lykawich has been knocked out by jokes like briggs and mo harris. his instinct is always to go to the ropes when he's hurt which is the ultimate no no in boxing. he's overrated because of nothing but a win over an out of shape and disinterested brewsterComment

Of course Liakhovich will fight Sultan anytime, anywhere. So will ANY heavyweight cause it means money and a shot at the title. The question is why the hell he deserves a shot.
And to say that Liakhovich was overweight and unmotivated to lose to Briggs is ******ed. If you aren't motivated for a title defense of one of the heavyweight championship belts, what the **** do you need?
Earn your shot or piss off.
This is like all of these perrenial one fight champions that lurk around and get undeserved shots at undeserving champions. At least Valuev defended a few times.Comment

screw the heavyweight division, Ibragimov and Lyacovitch are both terrible...any previous champion of the past 30 years would destroy them...The welterweight division is where the action is at right now....The only heavyweights I would even consider following are Brewster and The Klitschko's because those are the only 3 in my opinion who actually could maintain a title reign and possibly unify the belts. These clowns lose the belt after 1 defense and it just goes on a merry go round.Comment

The White Wolf
Liakovich vs. Ibragimov would be an interesting fight. I'd like to see the titles get unified, but I could definitely settle for a Liakovich/Ibragimov thump-out. Of all the soviet fighters, I ride with the White Wolf the most. He would pull out a victory against Ibragimov.Comment
