Chagaev beat Savon twice, and Sultan beat Savon at the Olympics in the golden medal match but was robbed. Savon is the greatest amateur HW boxer of all times. I think Chagaev and Ibragimov are excellent boxers. I completely disagree with posts characterizing them as "****".Comment

How do you really know that? I think the heavyweights are better today than ever before...they receive better training and better nutrition. I know it bothers some people that the four titleholders are not black and not American, but that doesn't mean they're not good!
I think it's really ****** to keep saying they're not as good as they used to be. In the 40's and 50's, the people that had grown up in the 20's said Louis and Marciano were not as good as Dempsey and Tunney, and the heavyweights were no good anymore...in the 60's and 70's some said Ali and Frazier wouldn't have succeeded in the Joe Louis era.
I don't think we can compare the heavyweights of different eras in an unbiased way, so we should just acknowledge they've always been good and still are good.
I expect more of this negativity toward the heavyweight division in the weeks to come, since Sultan's taken the WBO title. It sounds like a lot of ****** jealousy and sour g****s to me.Last edited by Steelhammer86; 06-03-2007, 04:06 PM.Comment

I think jd's partially right. I think alot of racism is in this sport, and the fact that all 4 people who hold belts are white pisses off some people on this forum.
