And the quick KO?

it was obvious to me that sultan was just not in shape for the austin fight. he was 231 for that fight and looked much quicker in his fights right before and after when he was 220 lbs. there was no way he was going to come in that heavy for briggs and stand right there and trade with him. not with a title on the lineWell considering Briggs is extremly powerful and Ray Austin got to, and knocked down Sultan goes to show that this was a possibility.
Just because people thought Briggs had a shot to stop Sultan early doesnt mean they dont know anything about boxing.
And its easy to say this now, after the fight.
I didnt hear **** from you before it.Comment

beez you made a good prediction and stuck with it, props..but no way this was a no-brainer. i don't care about the excuses for sultan during the austin fight, he looked like **** and was knocked down by a light puncher. that alone made this fight a pickem because briggs has power and sultan's chin before the fight was questionable. so you made a good pick but it wasn't a no-brainerComment

lol this is a classic case of hind-sight bias... Of course briggs had a chance to KO him. If they had a rematch Briggs would still have a chance to win, but i doubt it. Fact is the guy looks good then just folds in his big fights. He's out of shape and he can be beaten by someone decent who can stick and moveComment

Well, actually it was. Granted Briggs is a puncher, so of course he always has a puncher's chance, but how often does he perform well. the correct answer is rarely if ever. The fact is Briggs got lucky against Liakhovich who put on an unusually poor performance yet was still leading on the cards. What reason do we have to believe that Briggs would suddenly change the way he trains and fights?
After the weigh in it should have been clear to everybody that Briggs was going to lose. Actually I thought Ibragimov would knock him out, and if he had made the effort he may well have knocked Briggs out. Professional boxing is about knockouts, too bad these Europeans still haven't figured that out. A KO could easily have gotten Ibragimov a $20 mil fight against Klitschko.Comment
