    BETTER PERFORMANCE? Diaz or Pavlik?

    Whos performance was better?

Pavlik dominated and knocked out a rising prospect, a huge puncher, and earned himself a legitimate and hard earned shot at TAYLOR

Diaz dominated and stopped Freitas in the 7th round. Freitas, a Brazilian icon and a fighter who fought the like the guy who was on his way to the hall of fame before running into chico. That was a very good Freitas who fought Diaz that night.

I thought Diaz's performance was better.

Pavlik by far. Freitas was already a quiter coming into their fight. Pavlik beat the most avoided fighter in the division by knocking him senseless.

      By Far? I completely disagree.

I could definetly agree with Pavlik having the better performance, but Diaz just blew Frietas out of the water.

Sure Freitas is a quitter, but not only did he not quit in this fight (his corner stopped it), Diaz rocked Freitas many times, and there was 3 or 4 times that the ref could have stopped the fight with no complaints.

Pavlik had an amazing performance, but he has a power style. Its easier to look impressive. Diaz doesnt hit nearly as hard, and still managed to stop the brazilian.

And again, that was a very good FREITAS that you saw fighting DIAZ. That's the guy everyone HOPED would show up.

Pavlik, because Miranda is a more formidable opponent and has a lot more heart and determination than Freitas.

Freites is an easier opponent to break down. Hes obviously soft mentally right now. Once you quit once, its much easier to do it again. If Miranda had Freitas' mentality going in to that fight he would have been knocked out even earlier.

This is a tough one because I was impressed with both. Diaz just wore down Frietas to nothing and his corner or him threw in the towel. I would have to say that Pavlik's performance was better just for the fact many of us including myself didn't think that Pavlik would win and especially not do it in the fashion he did. I really felt if he was going to beat him he was going to outbox Miranda, but no he went right after him and confused Miranda because no other fighter had done that before. He seemed to take the fight out of Miranda which I didn't think was possible and outpowered the hardest puncher in the division. Both made of statement that they are for real and will be around for a long time, but Pavlik's performance was more impressive IMO.

Freitas quit on his stool and has never been a force at 135 - ever. Freitas has NO power at 135 and mentall quits when he can't knock a guy out. Pavlik knocked out the most dangerous guy at the weight and made it look easy.

They (Ghost and Baby Bull) were both equally great in their "performance".

However Pavlik did have what seemed to be a more formidable opponent. I agree that Diaz had already shown his vulnerability in a few fights including quitting. Miranda is a hard punching, determined, top MW. Miranda wasn't as proven as Freitas in terms of competition (Casamayor, Corrales, Raheem, Barrios, Grigorian, Ramirez), but at this stage in their careers was considered more dangerous.

diaz did good in his fight with popo. but popo caught him once or twice and won a couple of rounds off of diaz.

miranda never had a chance. pavlik ripped him to shreds.

props to both fighters, but pavlik's performance what much more impressive.
