Of course Bruce Lee was the real deal. He was known as the greatest martial artist of all time. What does MARTIAL ART mean? Simply putting any combat stylist in hospital in as little as time as possible!
I can list a name of great fighters who bet their life on noone beating Lee. I mean putting your own life on someone is saying something. Because i value my life i wouldnt put it on for anyone at all.
You see....people had faith in Lee. So dont waste time with threads like these where everyone already knows the answer to.

Listen people this is common knowledge Bruce Lee was the greatess Martial Artisit ever to live, he had spectacualr strength, an incredible physique and his martial art skills are thing of legend..... but with that said i also say this there are other people out there other then Lee who dedicate themsleves to there respective sport such as Manny Paq a boxer regarded by many as 1 of the top 3 p4p fighteres in the game! But see despite Paqs status among p4p fighters, it is easily understandable that Paq couldnt beat a Jermaine Taylor or Kelly pavlik, even a Wlad Klit for that matter, And its easibly understandable that Bruce Lee was on a whole different playing field, but still i wouldnt doubt the strength of a 6'6 240 plus man against the stregnth of Lee who by all means could be called the best P4P fighter of alltime to tottally overwhelm or astonish say Wlad Klit, im sure a man of that size and ability boxing and kickboxing could stand some sorta chance to catch or even maime Lee, or Tyson to catch him.... i mean wheve all seen the best fall and to say "well what if they where in there prime" is like asking "well what could i buy if i HAD a million dollars! Lee at 60 would still be a physical masterpiece but since he died at 32 who know what could of been1

The fact is Lee is no myth and never was it is documented and written that his ability was and still is unmatched by any1 P4P.... the guy was like many say be4 his time and had he not died many of these question would be answered, but there not so for that respect the integrity of the myth becuz to all who have not witnessed it off the big screen and for real with there own eyes can only speculate, contemplate, and verbalate what theve heard thought or want to believe, not KNOW!

i would say the only way u could know if he was 'the real deal' or not would be for him to compete in mma events, but since they werent invented when he passed there is no way he can be considered 'the greatest martial artist'. i mean, he never competed in any kind of combat sport, be it kickboxing, muay thai, boxing or whatever, so to say he is the greatest would be in line with saying a guy was the greatest boxer p4p when u've only seen him hit the heavy bag, he might have looked the real mcoy when he had complaint actors in front of him, but i would debate the effectiveness of his martial art JKD since NONE of the top mma guys use it. if it was so fantastic why dont the likes of ufc, pride or shooto fighters use it?

It goes against anything Lee was taught to be honest to enter
                  tournements ie..MMA

Thats not what he was about..

He may of been the greatest martial artist of all time to a western audience because they mainly haven't seen people fight like he did, didn't Bruce Lee get chucked out his Wing Chun class for indicipline, there were thousands of fighters like Bruce Lee at the time but they all keep themselves to themselves and carried on learning without a "acting career" that Bruce Lee has, just look at the shoalin monks are they any different to Bruce Lee, theve trained everything single day of there lives since they were born to fight. To say hes the greatest martial artist of all time, would get laughed at in China.

I’d probably pick an elite boxer over him, we know he was a physical specimen but there are to much what ifs with Lee’s fighting ability. Major respect for him though.
Lee did learn ground tactics lol along with boxing he was a mixed martial artist just look up "Jeet Kune Do" .
