Is Bruce Lee Fact or Myth?

Let's get everyone's real thoughts on here. Do you really believe that Lee was this All Time Great fighter who could beat a guy at any weight or do you think that he was just a great fighter for his size? Im a huge Lee fan and I think he's a beast but you have to wonder about things. How much different is he then a Pac Man? Lee himself was only like what, 5'7 and a 135 pounds? Yet there are a ton of people who would swear by him to destroy huge guys.

I remember Max Kellerman use to basically say that its a joke that people thought Lee would beat a Mike Tyson. What could Lee do with a Lennox Lewis or a HW UFC fighter? On the other hand you hear stories about Bruce having this kind of rock hard body and freakish strength that was able to do things that no one could do. Here's one article on him: http://www.mikementzer.com/blee.html

So what do you guys think? Pac is a damn freak athelete but even we would say that a Middleweight would murder him, let alone a HW. I do remember people saying that he's super fast in his movies but they had to slow the film down because he was even faster then that. The spinning kicks he does are as quick as a normal punch. On the other hand, could a boxer like Floyd or Zab also look super fast in a figthing movie like that? Could Lee even do anything to a Jean Claude Van damn? What are your thoughts on him? Are the stories of him beating up huge elite fighters fact or are they a myth? I personaly believe that he was a monster and could destroy mostly everyone his own size but I dont know about huge guys. I think he could beat big guys who werent legit but I dont know about real good fighters. However, if it was found to be true, for some reason I wouldnt be completely shocked

I'd take Bruce Lee in a cage fight royal rumble over Chuck Norris, Steven Seagal, Al Bundy, Screech, and Urkel, ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!

This has been beaten to death. There's lots of other threads on it. You're just going to get the same polarized views as the other threads got. He was only an actor he never fought anybody; he was the greatest p4p fighter of all time etc. Those are the two extreme views with lots in between.

Bruce Lee revolutionised the world of martial arts and was very much ahead of his time. The man dedicated his life to physical fitness and ways of fighting. He trained with the likes of Gene LeBell and Chuck Norris. I think Norris said he was the strongest p4p man ever or words to that effect. I personally believe the people who hate on him just don't like to think a little chinese man could kick their ass. Having said that, little kids who have just watched his films and think he could have beaten King Kong do no favours to the debate.

I've asked a few guys in the martial arts world and they think he was the real deal. Other more extreme views are people thinking Manny Pacquiao could beat him, and while they may look the same sort of size, Lee in reality has many more weapons and would have probably killed him, but that's only my opinion.

Like I said, it's a hugely polarized debate. Lee himself would be sitting laughing his ass off if he could see these debates I bet.

Bruce Lee is a Legend. He was the real mcoy. His amazing skills coupled with his mysterious death, are what made him a Legend. He was first and foremost a martial artist. His talent was brought to light when he became an actor.
Although he received his formal training from renowned Wing Chun teacher Yip Man, Lee later found established martial arts forms to be too rigid for his purposes. He eventually developed his own style: Jeet Kune Do (Way of the Intercepting Fist).

Lee was known for his demonstrations of great strength and athleticism. One of his most impressive displays was his ability to do one-handed push-ups using only two fingers.

While working as a stuntman, Jackie Chan took a whoopin' from Bruce in 1972's FIST OF FURY. "During the final fight scene, Bruce kicks me through a wall, my body flying fifteen feet before hitting the ground--at the time, that was the longest distance a Hong Kong stuntman had ever been thrown without some kind of safety device."

Directors love to pay homage to Lee's iconic yellow tracksuit from GAME OF DEATH (1978). This outfit is referenced in KILL BILL, VOL.1 (2003) as worn by Uma Thurman; HIGH RISK (1995) as worn by singer Jacky Cheung; and SHAOLIN SOCCER (2001), as worn by Chan Kwok Kuen.

please stop this kinda thread. We all respect Bruce, but putting his name on any BS threads hurts his memory.
