ha-ha! LOL!!!!! The Boxing Banker...that **** is funny! I wonder who in world would call them selves that! I was used to names like [COLOR="DarkSlateBlue"]"BONE CRUSHER SMITH" and [COLOR="darkslateblue"][COLOR="Navy"]"THE EASTON ASSASIN" those were some real Boxer names. I mean Tarver and Paulie both call them selves "MAGIC MAN" but I wouldn't want to hear Michael Buffer announce me with...."and in the Blue corner..."The boxinnnggg Bankerrrrrr"!!

        Cory "The Next Generation" Spinks.

Yeah we know he comes from a boxing rich family. Doesn't mean his nickname has to sound like a Star Trek series.

There was a lot of crap back in the "good old days" too.
Only difference being the presence of the internet...now anybody can jump on a boxing forum and exaggerate every little thing that happens.

"Fighter A wants 10 mil? Oh that's too much he must be ducking fighter B! He's a coward!"

And then people log on and read this **** and it rubs certain fighters names in the mud....creates unnecessary labels on fights and fighters. This aspect wasn't present in the 80's.

Why do people act like this business aspect of boxing and corruption is new?

Was boxing not a business when Joe Gans was throwing fights for money because people didn't want to see a black lightweight champion?

Was it not a business when black heavyweights like Langford and Wills couldn't get title shots?

What about the 40s and 50s when the Mafia controlled guys like Ike Williams and Frankie Carbo was the most powerful man in boxing? When Beau Jack headlined more fights at the Garden than anyone else but ended up shining shoes for a living?

Or Jack Dempsey defending his heavyweight title once every eon....because he could make lots of money doing exhibitions instead?

Boxing has ALWAYS been a shady business.
