Calzaghe ready to take on kessler in copenhagen for 5 mill

    http://www.bt.dk/article/20070530/SPORT08/70530003/0/A

This article in danish paper BT this morning says that warren has acceptet palles offer for 5 mill fighting in Copenhagen, Denmark.

    Translation:
    "Calzaghe ready for Kessler
Mid May a fight between Mikkel Kessler and Joe Calzaghe did not seem likely.

After a meeting between Mogens Palle and Calzaghe-promoter, Frank Warren in London it was hard to se the dream fight becoming a reality, but now BT has learned, that Calzaghe is ready for a clash in Copenhagen in the fall.

    - “We have told Mogens, that we are ready to box in Denmark on whatever terms he wants. That is his original offer. Ask Mogens what he has to say to that”, Frank Warren says to BT

The before mentioned offer was of five million dollars (27,5 mill. Kr) for Calzaghe for a match in Denmark in September.

    - “He has sent something, yes. But this is not to be taken lightly, so there must be some lawyers involved. A lot of different numbers and offers are floating around. It is too early to say where it all ends. I have no further comments at the moment”, Mogens Palle told BT

This means that the dream fight is alive once again

But i dont belive it until they sign a contract, but its going in the right direction now

I doubt it will happen, if he does fight Kessler in Denmark then Joe just got my respect, but I don't think it will happen.

But what is Calzaghe going to achieve from this? If he whoops Kessler people will just say "Kessler had a padded record and looks like after all he wasnt the real deal".

Sadly Geoff has a point. If you don't beat a bunch of black Americans you'll never be a star.

Why has Wladdy only fought like two white guys in his last twenty fights?

lol exactly. But they will have an excuse for every likely opponent. Taylor - not good enough. Hopkins - too old. Winky - too small. Kessler - padded record.

And if either of them happen to beat calazaghe it will be "LMFAO pwn pwn pwn"

              $5 million is too tempting.

Knowing Calzaghe/Warren, 10 minutes before he is ready to sign the contract, he will demand a golden calf, the a Dodo bird omlet and request Kessler to shave his balls just to squash the fight. And then the Calzaghe fans will say, "Well, Kessler is the one who walked away, he wouldn't even shave his balls"

                  he better take this fight.

kessler is all talent, anyone w/ 2 eyes can see this and if joe beats him and he gets backlash for it, well, you limeys know how to defend your own.

                  he better take this fight.

What's wrong with us saying that?

                    It would be his fault.
