Do you consider Ibragimov a TOP 10 Fighter?

I dont want to hear any excuses if Briggs kicks his ass, Sergei was in the top 5 when Briggs beat him, do you consider Ibragimov a top 10 fighter in the HW division? Yes or no? I've already made this thread incase any excuse is being used later.

In the immortal words of Spike Lee...

    HELL NO!

I don't care who wins either way. I've always been a long suffering Briggs fan, in the same fashion that I can't bring myself to stop rooting for the Knicks (though with them it's more out of pity). I think he has a good chance of winning, and I'm liking the underdog odds.

I'll be marginally impressed if Ibragimov wins. With all of the hype surrounding him, anything short of an impressive win would be a major letdown. I still don't get the hype surrounding him. I mean, this is a guy who just last year made Ray Austin look good! (even though I thought Sultan won by a couple of points).

I look at the fight this weekend as, the winner remains somewhat relevant. Briggs wins, he remains somewhere in the lower half of the top 10. Ibragimov wins, then you can begin to make the argument that he's top 10.

A guy that can't beat Ray Austin is not top 10 in any era.

He might squeak in the edge of the top ten; I voted yes but I already think it was a premature vote. I don't hold him in high regard but I'll credit Briggs with a good win if he knocks Sultan out like I expect.

These guys are both probably between 8 and 12

        Klitschko
        Peter
        Klitschko
        Chagaev

That's a clear top 4 and no one else is even close. After that you have:

Maskaeev, Valuev, Briggs, Brewster, Lyka, Rahman, and I guess Ibragimov in an order nearly impossible to determine meaningfully.

Not right now. He will be top 10 if he beats Briggs. Who has Ibragimov beat, or even fought, that would make him a top 10 heavyweight?

the guys got a lot of talent, but he hasnt beaten anyone rated as top ten, so i would say no.

that doesnt mean i wouldnt give briggs credit for the win, sultan's a tough guy.

Sultan Ibragimov hasn't proven himself to be in the top ten, but he's certainly in the top 25 and probably in the top 15 - a decent heavyweight, but not top level like Brewster and Wladimir. He's only faced a couple of fairly good opponents, Whitaker and Austin, and never fought a top ten opponent. He did look good against Whitaker, and was robbed of a deserved win against Austin.

Briggs is probably below top 15, although he has enough power to KO most people if he gets a lucky shot. According to IBO boxing ratings, he has never defeated a top 50 heavyweight except 48 year old Foreman and the overrated Lyakhovich. Shannon's fought clubfighters instead of journeymen to build up one of most phony records in boxing. I think most of the better heavyweights - Peter, Wlad, Brewster, McCline, Valuev, Chagaev, Brock, Rahman, Maskaev, Arreola, Povetkin - would have no problem defeating ol' Carrot Top.

Ibragimov should defeat Briggs. If he doesn't, then he wasn't really good enough for a title shot in the first place.

the kids on this site for some reason are behind him.
i dont know "the great white hope" syndrome?
don't think theyve seen his fights.
ibragimov is barely above club fighter statis.
we are in a time when the heavywt division is weak. weaker than when tyson reigned. and thats weaK. I still bet on hvwt fights, but because theyre clowns. sort of like theyre a joke. who can take that division seriously. both klits are back, ruiz is still in the game.my god peters even has a chance of winning a belt.
                its pathetic.

He's certainly not top 10 at the moment. If he beats Briggs then by all means he can be considered top 10 or slightly better.

i know .the tyson crap on this and other sites gets old.
but you cant blame them. casual boxing fans built up tyson. and remember those type of fans are in the majority and are the ones with the money who pay to watch.why sound like a broken record harping on the lackeys in the hvwt division. your dealing with people who thinks rocky balboa movies are great.
