that is exactly what i was thinking, just another fee for them to bank on. it's completely obvious and makes me nauseas for WBC to try and pull some bull**** like this. thinking that everyone wants to see this fight, as far as the general public is concerned and as well as hardcore boxing fans, the fight was a farce. only if you are a hardcore floyd fan was that fight anything worth watching. other than that it was a snoozer and any rematch would be a repeat of the same damn thing!!!!

WBC is trying to create a demand for this fight only to line their pockets. like someone else said in this thread there are dozens of other match ups that the boxing world would like to see rather than floyd vs oscar again. the fight itself and the WBC trying to push the fight is old hack, seen it, it was boring then and going to be boring if they fought a 100 times.......................

Your problem is that youve been watching Floyd at weights that he doesnt belong at. At 130-140 he is easily one of the best of all time and would beat 95% of the boxers in history. No way Pryor beats him with that one demensional crap. Did you see him against Alexis? He had no D and left himself open all the time. Floyd would beat him fairly easy. I cant believe you say he isnt fast. At 130 there was no one in his era that was faster.

I never thought it was fair for people to compare him to guys like Leonard & Hearns unless your going to talk about P4P. Alot of media idiots say that those guys would kill Floyd but they fail to mention that Floyd just started fighting at 147 while those guys started at that weight and ended at LHW. I believe Floyd has just filled into 147 in his last fight. When he comes back down to WW then you can start to judge him but anything else is dumb when those guys were natuarlly way bigger. Now if you compare them at 147 to a 130 pound Floyd then he is better or just as good. He's also far better at the higher weights then those guys were. He's far better at 147 then they were at 160 and higher. I still cant believe you say he isnt fast. Your just saying that because youve watched his last couple of fights when he's throwing one punch at a time so it doest seem fast. If he throws his combos then they are still blistering and your not going to be the same speed at 154 as you were at 130. Floyd is much more of a complete fighter then you give him credit for.

Fans like you just dont get that the 80's were overrated. No doubt they had great fighters but we make them mythical because that was the last era of regular TV fights. Your completely wrong saying that no one would NO Floyd. It would be the exact opposite. If he fought then, he would be 10x more famous then he is now. If guys like Leonard, Duran, and Hearns fought now then they wouldnt be super because boxing isnt a major sport anymore and they always fight on PPV. You trying to tell me that these guys couldnt fight in any era. Guys like Floyd, Hopkins, RJ, MAB, EM, Pac, JMM, Tszyu, Winky, and others are all time greats. Its just that boxing isnt big anymore so we dont look at them like the 80's guys.
no hes not fighting guys much "bigger" then him at all..he was a skinny lil kid at them light weights hes a man now and hes in better shape the theese "bigger fighters and when he comes in the ring only a few pounds less .. he gains muscle and has just as much muscle as the fighters hes fighting.. .... he may fare ok with some of the fighters but winky and hagler hearns leanord pryor noway...

i had it even at 10 rounds into the first fight.

floyd could barely get past oscar's gloves, and when he did...it was the softest lamest punches that got through. never seen such a weak performance in a fight of this magnitude.

would i watch it again if they did it again, of course. as for what would happen, i actually think floyd would stand infront of oscar more and take some chances.

I watched this fight probably 4 times includin the first time live and was very entertained. I would watch a rematch and I think DLH still has a good chance of winning, he gassed out but gained some good experience into mayweathers bag of tricks. Plus I dont see how this could be anything but good for boxing as a whole. maybe not the fight I would like to see mayweather in( Mosley or Cotto please) but very worthwhile. lets skip the whole 24/7 garbage this time tho and package it with a great undercard to make the casual fan boxing devotees.

True that. Karma for you. I still think Floyd would beat Duran.

              [B]skinny lil kid[/B
a skinny kid at 25-26 when he was fighting at 135? maybe he was a skinny little kid in the ams when he fought at 106...

You dont usually post crap, but this one is a bunch of biased crap.

This is plain bias. Nowadays most welters fight come in at 155-160.

But... you know what? forget the numbers: you only need a good pair of eyes to see the size difference between Mayweather and De La Hoya or Baldomir or even Castillo.

Corrales came in at 149 in the first castillo fight (lightweight)
Mayweather weighs 149 in his last two fights at welterweight and juniormiddleweight.

Finally, all of the fighters you mention are naturally bigger than Mayweather, its not rocket science: They started their career at higher weights and with the exception of pryor they also finished their careers at higher weights.

when i saw mayweather, in person, i was surprised how small he was. im 5'7 130 pounds and floyd seemed so damn small to me i dunoo

i guess i just assumed he's bigger cause boxers seem larger on my TV

I agree about this probably not living up to the hype if it was gonna happen.
